Chapter 12

Melanie's POV

"Mel,aunt Sarah told me that you wouldn't be going to school today! C'mon tell me,did something happen at the party while I was gone?" Jiela asked while sitting on my bed and holding my hands. Her eyes pleading with me to tell her.

I sighed.
"Well nothing really happened. It's just that something minor happened and it kinda triggered my nightmares".

"What!? You have nightmares and you never told me? How come I didn't notice when I came for sleepovers?"

"Ela you didn't notice because it stopped for a while and well just happened to have missed me so it decided to pay me a visit!" I shrugged.

"Mel,I'm really sorry for leav-

"Honestly Ela this is like the 20th time you're apologizing and it's freaking annoying the sh*t outta me. I admit I was kinda disappointed that you left me but hearing ya reasons,it's not your fault. Plus you'll be late for school,so you better get going" I gently pushed her towards the door after giving her a brief hug.

"Mel here,take these painkillers"mum said as she handed me some coloured tablets.

"How are you feeling?"

"Thanks mum and I'm feeling better,I just don't feel for school"I said and gulped down the tablets along with the water.

"Yeah I already called your principal that you'd be absent for this whole week" she said like it was no big deal.

"Mum a whole week! No! I'll miss a lot." I said in a panicky voice.

"Mel,you have to be completely fine before I'll allow ya to go! Plus you won't miss anything. You'll join the online class" she smiled at me.

Maybe she was right. I hugged her and headed down for breakfast.

I was now in my sweatpants and a white t-shirt. I had started doing some e-learning which I found pretty interesting even more than the one on one teaching.

I went to the kitchen and I saw Skittles.

At least there was something that's going to make me smile today.

I grinned as I took my favourite candy and started munching on it.
I moaned in delight.

I was not a violent person but if anyone wanted to see the wrestler in me,all they had to do was mess with my Skittles and they'd see me giving them an RKO!

I'm kidding (no I'm not!)

"Ew you two should go get a room" Nick said amusedly as he watched me savour the taste of my darling Skittles.

"Shut up Nick!"

"I'm glad you're okay now. Care to tell me what happened at the party?"

"You won't stop till I tell you,right?" I huffed in annoyance.

"Nope" he said while popping the 'p' in the 'nope'

I told him everything that happened. Nick was my brother. He's been there when no one else wanted to be there so there was no way I was gonna keep stuff from him. Plus he'll easily know it when I'm telling lies

"Caleb Padilla? Why does the name sound so familiar?"

"Apparently he's the son of ya business partner that we had dinner the other time.... does it ring a bell?"

"Oh yeah! Mel,I want ya to stay away from him...I'll teach him a lesson. I don't you going back into ya old coiled up self so anyone who tries to make ya like that will get it from me"

I didn't even want to tell him to let it go cos knowing Nick,when he sets his mind to do something,not even the book of revelation can stop him.

"Mum you said you took permission for me to be absent for a week right?"

"Yes sweetie. I know-

"Yessss yaayyyyy" I jumped in happiness.

"Why are you so excited? I thought you didn't like it?"she asked confusedly.

"Nevermind mum" I grinned.

I was happy because the school's Romeo and Juliet drama was going to be performed coming Thursday and I was not gonna be there so that's a plus for me.

I didn't want to see or be near that guy let alone act with him.

I spent the whole day watching Netflix blah blah. I decided to make myself enjoy and not think about the world even if it's just for a while.

Later in the afternoon Jiela came and had so much fun together. She literally forced me to tell her what was happening to me.

I told her about the nightmares and everything that happened at the party.

She was so mad at herself and also at Caleb.

"Gosh if only I didn't leave! That son of a b*tch wouldn't have said all that. Mel,I'm so sorry. God I feel so guilty right now. And I'm so sorry bout what happened to you....you didn't deserve to go through all that. And that Caleb is so going to get it from me. No one messes with my best friend" she was literally crying so hard.

"OMG girly, you're crying"I decided to lighten the dense atmosphere.

"F*ck off" she sniffed and laughed a little. I gave her a tight hug and she cracked jokes to make me feel better.

"Guess what?she asked me as if I could get it right.

"What?"

"I'm having a sleepover today!"she said excitedly.

"Really? But what about your parents? Do they know about this?"

"C'mon Mel they're on a week business trip so yeah!"

I knew she wanted to be there for me. She wasn't doing it out of pity.

She had clothes in my house cos well she mostly spent the nights in my house.

We went down to grab some snacks and got cozy in my room and we decided to watch 50 shades of grey for the 18th time.......blame our hormones.

We ate popcorn and decided to watch Scooby Doo. Yup that was our special thing.

It's weird,I know but to hell with that.
I think we fell asleep while watching.

"Jiela,wake up! You're going to be late."

"Oh c'mon aunt Sarah lemme sleep just for a while" Ela whined.

"Oh no! You better get up now or I'll feed ya breakfast to the dogs"mum said dramatically.

"No no,don't do that to me auntttt!" Jiela said fully awake now.

Jiela and her food! I mentally shook my head and draped myself tighter.

"Bishh!"she pulled my cover cloth off me as she stomped her feet to the bathroom.

"I love you too"I yelled at back at her while laughing.

She was obviously annoyed that she had to go to school without me. I mean we're all we got at school.

A lot of people were trying to be our friends now that Nick was popular but we knew better.

A/N

Quite a short ass chapter but half a loaf is better than none,right?😂
