Melanie's POV

This weekend, Ela and Riri were coming over to my house as usual. Not that I'm complaining but it means Caleb and I can't hang out at the tree house and I had to tell him.

Should I call him or just send him a text to tell him? I might sound clingy if I call so I just decided to send a text.
I quickly sent him a 'hey' and waited patiently for his response.

Instead of texting back,he called. Oh so it'd have been normal if I called him.
I cleared my throat before picking up.

"I miss you too"
Does this boy know how to say hello?

I rolled my eyes at his childish behaviour. Sometimes I couldn't help but find it funny that a WHOLE Caleb can act so carefree and childish. I found it very amusing.

"Okay I get it that you've missed and you wanted to hear my voice but aren't you going to say something?"
I can only imagine the smirk on his face right now.

"Jesus Christ! How are you able to walk properly with all that arrogance you carry"I laughed at him."So uh Caleb?"

"Yes Skittles?"
He's calling me Skittles for a while now! Geesh!

"So this weekend we can't hang out"I blurted out.

I heard him sigh,"Why? Don't you wanna hang out with me again? Did I say something-"

"Silly! Of course not. I spend every weekend with Riri and Ela."

I expected him to say something but the line was quiet. "Caleb,are you still there?" Or did he leave his phone and go?

I was about to speak again when my battery suddenly died. Of all times,why did my battery die just now?

I dropped it and headed down. Ela and Riri would be here very soon.

"Bitch I'm hooome!" Ela screamed while struggling to bring some snacks and candies she brought.

"Did I just hear you say you no longer liked my fries and grilled chicken?"mum glared playfully at Ela. Mum loved decent language too much gosh!

"N-no aunt. Hello sister in Christ! I'm home. We'll be discussing  how Job almost sacrificed his son but God gave him a cow as a replacement" Ela said to me sweetly that everyone laughed even mum.
This girl!She loved mum's cooking to the max!

"Jesus Christ,Ela! Do you even read your Bible?"I laughed at her ridiculousness. "You definitely need some holy water in your life!"I couldn't control my laughter. How did I get so lucky to get a hilarious and dumbass all in one best friend! "Your level of bibliography amuses me,my fellow sister in Christ"I choked out a laugh which was now subsiding.

"Oh shut up! At least I know that Job was in the bible"she glared at me.

"Sweetie,it was Abraham who almost sacrificed his son to God because he loved God so much. Oh and God gave him a ram as a replacement not a cow. You know something? When we-"

"Uh aunt,I need help with these stuff"Ela looked horrified because she knew if mum started with one of her long biblical stories,we'd finish tomorrow.

"I'm still continuing the story after we're done unstufffing the snacks. I know you're trying to get away"mum laughed loudly.
I laughed too and  helped her get the things inside and we were soon joined by Riri.

"You girls are funny!"mum shook her head lightly while giving out a small laugh. Riri groaned. "Why do y'all keep forgetting that I'm a boy!"

"Oh shut up! You're privileged to be counted among girls,I mean boys are plain boring" Jiela rolled her eyes while giving out a magazine pose.
