Melanie's POV

I came out of the room smiling like a fool. I looked down at the Skittles in my hand and smiled even more. Is that even possible? Plus my cheeks hurt from smiling too much.

I quickly rushed to class and saw that miss Alvira was already there. To worsen it,Riri and Ela were already in class which meant that they knew I didn't go and see her. Gosh!

I gave a nervous smile and took my seat. The day moved painfully slow. After a series of classes and annoying tests,school was finally over.

"Hey Mel,wait up!"Riri ran towards me while panting like he just raced with a cheetah. Idiot!
"Let's go?"

"Yup!"I said and we made our way towards Ela's car. She was already seated and fiddling with her phone.
"Hey guys! Let's go!"Ela said with a big smile.

She probably forgot about the whole Miss Alvira issue. That's a relief!

"Not so fast,young lady! You still owe us an explanation as to where you went because you obviously didn't go and see Miss Alvira. Are you keeping something from us?"Ela accused while starting the car.

"Of course not! You really want to know where I went?" I asked quietly thinking of what to tell them.

"Duh!"she rolled her eyes.
"Okay I'll tell ya! Since you guys were eating,I didn't wanna tell ya that I had seen red. I mean I didn't wanna spoil ya appetite"I was surprised as to how the lie rolled easily from my mouth.

"Idiot! There's nothing wrong with that! It's a natural thing so why will it spoil our appetite! Sometimes you're pretty dumb for a girl your age"Ela laughed while she smacked my head gently.

"Guys??I'm confused here. What red are you talking about?"Riri scrunched up his face at the backseat.

"Another dumb idiot! We're talking about period. You know the kinda thingy girls-"

"Oh. Let's end here! I don't wanna talk about nasty-"Riri began while raising his hands to cover his ears.

"Oh shut up!" Ela laughed and took a new blade from her purse. She turned back and took Riri's little finger and cut a little flesh which caused blood to ooze out.

"Woman,are you crazy? You're wild"Riri looked horrified.
"Now that you're seeing blood,tell me,is it nasty?"Ela mocked playfully.

"Of course not,it's just blood-"
Ela rolled her eyes."Exactly,it's just blood. It's just blood that we also see at the end of the month so suck it up!"

"Trust me Mel,this friend of ours is evil,she's pure pure evil"he said while glaring playfully at Ela.

"...she cut me with a f*cking blade just to prove a point. Who does that?"
God I have amazingly crazy friends.

Ela dropped Riri home before dropping me. I waved her bye and she drove off.
They were gonna have a sleepover again next weekend.

"Hey mum."I kissed her cheek when I saw her at the kitchen.
"Is Nick at home?"I pumped her for an answer while gulping down a bottle of water.

"Yeah. He came just a few minutes ago. He's up in his room"she replied as she continued to whisk some mixture in a bowl.
"Okay I'll go and speak to him. It's been a while"I went to his room and found him on his laptop.

Does he ever stop working?

"Hey Nickimpoop"I hugged him behind his study chair. Because he was seated,I had to hold his neck.
He stopped whatever he was doing on the laptop,turned and gave me a face. A funny one at that and I'm sure he was oblivious to that.
