Y/N WOULD'VE SAID SORRY IF it had made any difference but she knew that he wouldn't have changed his mind about liking her.

she knew that this time she had said too much though, and that she had been too unkind during their meeting at the dock.

after the much too short weekend, the trio were back to filming once again.

finn pulled y/n aside to talk to her about what had happened the last time they spoke. he wanted to clear things up and try to piece everything together because he still thought this wasn't real.

"so, i was just wondering if you actually meant what you said the other day." finn casually brought up. "you know, the whole thing about you liking me back..." he trailed off.

not wanting to talk about her feelings again and trying to push them aside, y/n decided to lie about how she felt. "finn it was just a joke! i wanted to see how you would've reacted." she laughed.

it hurt her to laugh about it but she did not feel ready to do this yet. she knew sadie was eavesdropping in the last conversation so she had to do it, but sadie wasn't here now.

finn felt as if his heart had dropped to the floor once he heard those words. 'it was a joke? why would she do that KNOWING how i felt about her?!' he thought to himself.

before he knew it, his eyes started to get glossy but he tried to cover it up as much as he could. he started to awkwardly laugh with y/n about it, hiding the tears in his eyes.

now you may be wondering why finn would be trying so hard to hide the tears in his eyes. you see, being in these kind of movies based in a different time, finn got into a different mindset during the whole time they're filming and he never breaks character. it's kind of like it's his personality, but he has a different mindset and different mannerisms than he usually would. so, finn thought that boys don't cry.

y/n wanted to break down at his feet at that very moment. seeing finn's eyes get glossy and him trying to cover it up absolutely broke her.

if she could, she would beg for forgiveness and plead with him to get their relationship going again. however, once again she knew that it was too late and that there's nothing she can do. she quickly excused herself and went back out to sadie.

finn was still trying to laugh about it. he was trying to cover up the lies, cover up the pain he has with laughter and happiness. why? because he still thought that boys do not cry.

he would've told her that he loved her right then and there if he had thought that she would've stayed there with him but he knew that it was no use and she had already gone away back to sadie to probably laugh about what she did to him.

sadie and y/n were speaking privately in y/n's dressing room. sadie knew that y/n liked him once again and she felt horrible for how bad this situation between them was. if she could go back in time, she would stop y/n from taking the role and just keep them going in their normal day-to-day life.

y/n told sadie all about how she had misjudged finns limits and how she thought she had pushed him too far. they both wished what had happened before the weekend never happened, but it was now too late.

she took finn for granted back when they were still together and now she thought that maybe he had needed her more than how often they already saw each other.

both finn and y/n would do most anything to get each other right by their sides but, they just keep on laughing, hiding the tears in their eyes because they just didn't think they were ready to stick by one another's side once again.

but finn tried to hide his tears better because boys don't cry.
