chapter 5: she's so high

THE NEXT DAY FELT AS though it had come quicker than the bat of an eye. however, finn still never stopped thinking about the girl and i would be lying if i had said y/n hadn't been thinking about him.

y/n was struggling a lot ever since she saw finn. some of the old feelings she had for him resurfaced and she was torn whether or not she should confront her feelings.

finn on the other hand was still head over heels for this girl.

the girl was lucky because she had her best friend, sadie, right next to her to help her with all of these feelings and what she should do with them. unfortunately, finn didn't have anyone in new york with him due to all of his friends living in what seemed like every other state in america.

finn walked onto set and immediately saw the girl he was still in love with. he stood there in awe as he admired her vanity. he couldn't believe she could be so beautiful and for it to be all blood, flesh and bone, considering she was still too young to get any work done (even though, in all honesty, she didn't need any.)

he still couldn't believe that anything could've happened between the two, since she's so beautiful and he was just his average self. but he now knows where he belongs, and he knows nothing will ever happen between them again.

he always thought that she was so high above him, that she was so lovely. finn thought she was as beautiful of cleopatra or aphrodite and she was as brave and heroic as joan of arc. boy, did he think she was so much better than him.

finn hadn't realized how long he had been standing there but once he saw y/n's gaze shift and land on him, he immediately snapped his gaze away from the girl and ran to his dressing room.

y/n had actually been talking to sadie about finn and once she realized that he was there, her eyes widened and her head snapped back to sadie so fast, she could've sworn she got whiplash.

back in finn's dressing room, there was a boy still thinking about the love of his life.

he didn't understand how y/n could be so high class. in fact, he was pretty sure she had more money than him— which was surprising because she had only done one movie whereas finn had been in the industry for years— but he just assumed she booked as many modelling jobs and meet and greets as she could to try and get herself out there more. he couldn't understand how she could be so outgoing and not get any sort of anxiety constantly flying around the world and meeting all these different people.

finn thought he couldn't offer anything to the girl, that she couldn't benefit from dating him and that's why he was sitting around set alone.

she was perfect. she was beautiful (one might even say she had no flaws), she was rich (which only mattered to shallow people but he still felt as though he couldn't help her with paying for anything), and she had the most amazing personality. she was so caring for every single one of her supporters and tried to connect with them as much as possible.

'why should i even bother' finn thought to himself as he hoped that they would get back together. 'because she's so high above me. hell, she's as pretty as aphrodite and i just turned out looking like hephaestus.'

finn snapped out of his thoughts when he heard a knock at the door. he quickly jumped up to open the door thinking he was late to filming but to his surprise, it was none other than the girl he was just thinking of.

he stood with the door wide open, frozen, while y/n looked at him with a worried look on her face. to be honest, she didn't know if she wanted to do this but she still felt like she had to.

"uhm, finn? can i talk to you quickly?" she asked. sadie had forced her to come and talk to him and she knew she had to do it or else sadie would never stop talking about it.

"yea-yeah, come in," he stuttered, opening the door wider for the girl to be able to walk in.

"ok so i know i said i moved on but once i saw you i started to feel these old feelings again which i guess i completely buried deep down but they came back out when you appeared out of nowhere and now i'm really struggling because i think i might like you again but i don't know if i want to be in a relationship with you because you hurt me last time and i don't think i'm ready for that yet." the girl said entirely too fast for anyone to understand, yet finn understood every single word.

he stood there speechless, staring at the girl. what she just said sounded so unreal and he was still trying to figure out if this was a dream or if it was real.

"u-uhm," was all he was able to get out before the girl quickly turned around and sped out after mumbling a quick "i should probably get going back to sadie."

he stood there speechless, not being able to believe what had just happened.
