chapter 8: i melt with you

Y/N SAT IN HER APARTMENT with sadie as her mind raced. she had meant to go talk to finn after filming, but once she saw his expression filled with sorrow, she got too nervous and got sadie to drive her home.

"i mean, it feels like i'm moving forward using all my breath, saids! this is sucking all the breath out of my lungs," y/n complained to the red head right next to her.

"i know it might seem like that right now but once you express yourself to him, you'll feel a huge weight lifted off your shoulders and hopefully, you'll be able to breath again." she comforted the girl freaking out beside her.

y/n was lucky to have a friend like sadie always there for her. she was always there to comfort her and help her with her problems. y/n thought she owed her big time, she just needed to figure out how to repay her.

"okay. i'll go find him now and get this over with." y/n managed to croak out as she got up and left the room in a rush, trying to get rid of this anxiety faster.

FINN HEARD A FRANTIC KNOCK at his door, which quickly snapped him out of his trance from reading, but not without making him jump first.

he was curious as to who would be knocking at his door as if there were no tomorrow, but that didn't stop him from taking his time to walk over there which didn't help the anxious girl on the other side at all.

the curly haired boy looked through the peephole, surprised to see the familiar girl on the other side of the door.

"y/n? what are you doing here?" he spoke through the door.

"finn can you please just let me in? it's important." she spoke quickly.

he didn't stop and think before letting the girl in. if something was so important that she'd come talk to him about it, then it must be pretty big.

y/n walked in and stiffly sat on the couch in his hotel room. finn followed behind, a confused expression plastered across his face, but deciding not to question anything just yet.

"okay, finn," she breathed. "this is really difficult to say but it's been the reason i've been a complete asshole to you for the past little while. i think you'll also understand why i'm acting like this. being in love with you was never second best, and it was never something i had forgotten." after realizing she was rambling, she decided to just get straight to the point.

"what i'm trying to say is, i'd stop the world to melt with you. you've seen me change over the past year-ish and i hope being with you will continue to make everything better all the time." she concluded.

finn sat there with a look of shock on his face, anxiety running through y/n's veins.

it took him a couple minutes of sitting in silence and y/n staring at him to realize what he wanted to do with this information. what he had worked so long and hard to get had finally paid off.

"are you being completely serious?" he questioned. y/n shaking her head rapidly wanting a response sooner than later.

"y/n, you know i've wanted this for so long now! listen, there's nothing you and i won't do together. i will stop the world and melt with you," he smiled.

the girl letting out a breath she was holding, looked at finn with a huge smile on her face. she could only dream of the better lives they'll both have together now, both on and off set.

the two got up and quickly wrapped each other in a warm hug, both of them missing the sensation of having the other in their arms. the future was open wide and they were both excited about the opportunities they will be able to have as a couple.

"let's stop the world," y/n smiled.
