chapter 4: head over heels/broken

"WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU doing here?" y/n spat. she knew she was going to have a love interest, but never in a thousand years would she have thought it would've been her ex boyfriend (who, may i add, broke up with her for no apparent reason.)

"shit" sadie mumbled to herself. the redhead was excited to be able to work with her best friend but she also had no clue the three would be working together. if she had, she would've gotten herself and her best friend prepared to be working with him.

"alright! it looks like you three have found each other!" the producer exclaimed, completely oblivious of the tension between the teens.

"uhm, y/n? can we talk real quick... alone?" finn simply stated as he walked off. y/n looked back at sadie with a confused look on her face.

y/n hesitantly followed behind, with sadie and the producer glancing at each other, the producer being confused.

the pair of teens ended up finding, what they assumed to be, finn's dressing room and walked in. the stared at each other awkwardly, waiting for the other to speak, before finn decided to break the silence.

"so, uh, how's the weather?" he asked.

"finn, why couldn't you have just said this in front of sadie?" y/n replied. she just couldn't understand this kid anymore. one day it's 'y/n i'm in love with you and not my girlfriend!' and the next it's pulling her aside just to ask about the weather.

"i'm... i'm sorry. you can go back to sadie." he said, his head hung low.

"look, finn," she started, putting her hand on his shoulder. "the past is the past and i won't let that come between us. i've moved on from that incident a couple months ago and i've moved on from our relationship, and i hope you have too. but pulling me aside to ask about the weather, you're just wasting time." she tried to say as gently as possible before walking out of the room and going back to sadie.

finn stood there frozen, looking like a deer in the headlights. he was lost in admiration from her touching him. oh boy, he missed her.

'dammit. something happens and i'm head over heels for this girl' he said once he realized how stupid he probably sounded. he had to remember that she has moved on from their relationship and he needs to also.

but of course, he didn't realize this until he was head over heels about the girl.

he just wanted her to take his heart, not break his heart. he felt as though she had just thrown their whole relationship away, even after not wanting her to.

but he was so blind to not realize that he had been the one that threw it away.

AFTER A LONG DAY OF tension while trying to start the movie, the cast was finally able to go home and relax. sadie decided to stay at y/n's place instead of making the crew pay for a hotel room to stay in for months. as for finn, he took the expensive hotel room since he doesn't own an apartment in new york anymore.

finn turned on the fireplace in his room and got lost in this thoughts while watching the fake flames dance around in front of him.

he thought of the girl, and her future. perhaps it may end up being their future (which finn had hoped would happen, y/n not thinking of it at all.) he wondered how she would hold up, going from an aspiring actor to the lead in a hit movie.

he then thought about their past. the laughing, the spending, the reading, he missed it all. it was like he had one foot in the past and one in the present, but how long would this last?

this opportunity is like his four leaf clover. he felt lucky that he had to form an on-screen romance with his ex girlfriend that he just couldn't let go of. he thought that maybe it would end up just how it did before (except without him being rude to her without a reason this time around.)

he was head over heels for this girl, without a doubt, but if he were to confess his undying love for her at this very moment, she would just take his heart and throw it away.

through something horrible
and just needed a break
from writing.

it's been a couple months
now but i've slowly been
feeling better but i'm back
to writing!
