chapter 15: holiday

THE THREE AWOKE THE NEXT morning, excited to finally be able to leave it all behind. sadie was especially excited because she would be able to go to a strange and distant land. y/n and finn however, know the place they were going to already. y/n didn't know they were going there yet, but man, did finn want to tell her so bad.

they quickly got up to change, packing up their last bits of clothes into suitcases to cram into the trunk of finns car. before they left, they paused to take one last look at the place where so many memories were made. they truly were going to miss it, but they'll find a brand new feeling and make new memories at the place they were heading to.

it was time to go for a holiday, that would last for the rest of their lives. leaving today was a decision they'd made in a heartbeat, and they would be thankful for that decision for eternity.

y/n and finn sat in the front seats in the car, finn driving and y/n in the passenger seat. sadie got the whole back seat to herself, which she didn't mind because she would be able to sprawl out and sleep comfortably if she got tired.

y/n quickly put on her playlist so they could just lay back and relax on this early morning considering none of them could think of anything to talk about yet.

they would watch out the windows to see the big city slowly fade out until the small towns and big fields became the only thing they would be able to see.

both y/n and sadie quietly dozed off, sadie's light snores giving it away to finn. he didn't mind though, he loved driving and he thought it would be best if they would be well rested for when they get there.

the three arrived a couple hours later. y/n and sadie surprisingly slept for the whole rest of the ride and finn had to wake them up.

as soon as y/n opened her eyes, she knew exactly where she was. she quickly got up and screamed, running around the car to get to the other side to hug finn. she couldn't believe that he had been able to buy the cottage they went away to a couple summers ago.

sadie had heard about the cottage when y/n would talk to her about finn. she didn't recognize the place since she'd never been there, but she had known right away after seeing y/n's reaction.

they quickly grabbed their bags out of the trunk and ran inside to start decorating their new home. before they started unpacking though, y/n wanted to bring sadie to a spot that was very special for the couple.

y/n grabbed sadie's hand and quickly ran through the trees, dragging sadie behind her, while they were both laughing. finn was trailing behind, not wanting to run and knowing exactly where to go.

the ginger's jaw dropped as soon as she saw how beautiful the bay was, not once thinking it could've been as special as it actually was. it would be an understatement to say she was excited to third wheel with finn and y/n here for the rest of their lives.

for the rest of that week all three of them were unpacking and decorating the house to the way they loved. they adored the place and couldn't wait to stay there forever.

it's crazy to think that this all started with a pair of teenagers who hated each other's guts.
