Chapter 5 ______ Ruby and I were in the woods practicing some more effective spells. She had brought a bow and arrow which I thought was strange but she made me use it to practice aim just in case I could use my wand and had to grab something else to defend myself with.
I still didn't know how to control my magic when I get angry or upset and neither did Ruby, she didn't know how to solve it. I never got new glasses since they got smashed when I was running away from the castle so I was making do with the contacts that Ruby and I bought when we were out for food.
I wonder if my parents are still looking for me or if they even tried to. Have they even realised I had gone? What about Michael what's he going to do when he finds out I'm gone just like Alfie.
Hogwarts was getting closer and closer, I was nervous for it but also exited that I would be able to see everyone. Theo had sent me an owl apologising about the ball and that he will make it up to me when he's not drunk. Celia seems nice. I didn't talk to Pansy and she didn't want to talk to me so I guess that's a work in progress. Blaise seemed really funny and Draco, well Draco I can't wait to see him. I barely know him but I already like him, maybe even more than a friend, but Ruby warned me about him. He described him just like I would describe Alfie.

She demonstrated some more spells like fire and water (Aguamenti and Incendio). She told me what the spell Obliviate does, you can erase someone's memories. She told me about the unforgivable curses. The killing curse, the torture curse and mind control curse.
She took me further into the woods and there was a brick wall and she taught me the Bombarda spell, which creates a small explosion. Who knew magic could be so fun.
She said that if I ask Draco nicely he might teach me a thing or two about Legilimency and Occlumency. Legilimency where you can look into peoples memories but Occlumency is blocking the person out.
I was quite good with a bow and arrow and didn't miss very often. Ruby was amazing she could definitely be a warrior .
She also said that we get taught potions. She told me that last year they got taught about The Amortentia potions, it's the strongest love potion in the world and whatever you smell is what attracts you. She said that Hermione Granger smelt Ron Weasley. She thought it was quite cute as she has always thought they were together. She has to act like she hates her as she what they call a Mudblood which just mean muggle born.
Ruby thinks she quite cool other than being the annoying know it all and at the top of all their classes. If it wasn't for her background she thinks her and Hermione would of been friends.
I could see that it frustrated her that nobody in her own house liked her just because the rest of her family got put in Slytherin, I mean that just makes her different which means she's nothing like a Slytherin, she a brave, good, strong person not evil like they say Slytherins are.
The last shot I took landed right in the middle.

** We just finished shopping in Diagon Alley for our school books and an owl for me which I named Pepper. I didn't really know why but I just thought of it when I was eating and I was putting pepper on my food and I was like this would be a great name. At least I don't have to use Ruby's owl, Misty, to sent letter to everybody.

We were so lucky that I got my wand when I did because Ollivander's got broken into by Death Eater and they to Mr Ollivander with them. What would they want with him anyway.
It was the middle of August now and Ruby had finished teaching me most of the spells I could actually do without seriously injuring someone or worse. She said that I'm really good at them as they only took me a month to finish them all.
I hadn't heard from my parents at all which was strange but not surprising. I would of thought they would try or even my brothers. I was going to write to them and tell them I'm ok but nothing else and don't tell mother or father that I contacted you. I was going to tell Micheal a bit more though.
I know Alex care about me but he doesn't need to know everything.
Dear Alex,
I don't know if mother and father have told you about my disappearance but I'm ok. Don't tell them that I made contact with you though. I want you to know I am safe and well. I have not been kidnapped or anything like that, I just needed to get away from them and that castle. I will kill you if I find out you told, and that's a promise.

I am so sorry I haven't written to you sooner. I'm guessing that you know that I am missing. I ran away. I have not been kidnapped or anything so don't worry. I am safe. What I am about to write next you are not allowed to tell mother and father or anyone else. I am going to Hogwarts for my last year. I am going to use my real name but if anyone outside of Hogwarts asks for it, it is Jessica Sharp. I have planned it all out. I need to be able to control my magic, you saw what I did and that's without even learning magic, I'm sorry. I have to do this.
