Chapter 7
_____
Ruby had come looking for me when the train stopped. I had been crying and overthinking in the toilets for 3 hours. The letter was smudged from my tears and I could only read some of the words but it was fine because I read it so much I had practically memorised it.

Ruby and I got a carriage on our own as the others had already left without us. Ruby checked to see if I was alright I just nodded and looked out the window. It was raining outside which just made the mood even worse. Ruby told me that no
muggle-borns were allowed to attend Hogwarts this year, which I thought was discussing. You can't say someone can't learn because of their blood status they can't help that. This school is not what I thought. This was all on Voldemort.

We stepped out the carriage and one of the teachers took us into the great hall.

The room had 4 long tables one green, the next yellow, then red and last blue. Ruby gave me a big hug and then went to her table. I had to get sorted before the first years so I walked up to the front. All eyes were on me as I walked up to the stage. One of the teacher told me to sit on the stool.

The woman put the old hat on my head. It started to talk which made me jump "Mmm a Clarke, I never thought I would have another one again I was losing hope is see intelligence, courage, bravery and ambition, you're powerful veryy powerful, well SLYTHERIN!" I smiled and looked at the green table cheering and smile but got silenced by who I guess is Professor Snape.

I looked for Ruby on the red table and she had her thumbs up and a beaming smile. Even though she hated her house she still seemed to put on a believable smile, if you weren't looking at her properly you wouldn't even notice it was fake.

I saw Celia waving at me so I walked over to her part of the table, there was a empty space in between Theo and Celia so I sat between them. Everyone was really quiet whilst everyone else was getting sorted, when houses cheered for someone they got told off so eventually everyone gave up and stopped. This wasn't Hogwarts.

Once the sorting of the first years finished Professor Snape, now headmaster, made a speech about some new teachers and punishments, then he sent us off to our common room.

Celia showed me where everything was before we actually went back. The password for our common room was Pureblood. I was not going to say that. Note to self bring someone with you when you're going back to the common room.

All my friends were sitting by the fire. Blaise was making jokes. Draco was reading or at least attempting as Pansy was sitting in his lap trying to get a kiss but he pushed her away every time. Is she that desperate?

Celia sat down beside Theo and I stayed standing.

"You can sit down you know." Celia smiled.

"Yeah we're not going to kill you." Blaise laughed. I smiled and sat down in one of the arm chairs.

"Where are our bags?" I asked.

"Oh, there in our room I can show you if you want." Celia answered. I nodded and then stood up again to follow her down the stairs.

There were 7 floors each going deeper down. One floor for each year and the floor separated into three rooms. Celia and I were sharing a room, Millicent, Pansy and Daphne, the last room had another three girls I didn't know.

My trunk as pepper were sitting at the end of the bed. The room was nicely decorated. It had a fireplace on the wall with a mirror hanging above it. There was a tapestry of the Slytherin logo hanging above each bed. The sheets were green silk with a silver blanket. The pillows were the same green as the bedding.

The room was cold so I lit the fireplace so the room would be warm when we come to bed. I only wanted to grab a book so that I could occupy myself when I'm sitting downstairs. I needed to write to Micheal as well so I grabbed my book, a piece of parchment and my quill so I could write it upstairs.

Once we got upstairs I saw Pansy all over Draco he must of given up by now. Their tongues down each other's throats. I sat down back in the black leather arm chair and started to write my letter whilst leaning on the cover of my book. I jumped when something hit the floor and I looked up from my letter and saw Pansy still on top of Draco and she through Draco's book on the floor. That was a sight I never wanted to see. I had enough and went downstairs to my room to continue my letter in peace.

I finally finished my letter once Celia came in the room. It was late so I decided to send the letter out tomorrow morning. Celia got her pjs out of her trunk and put them on and I did the same. I got straight under the covers and fell asleep to the crackling of the fire.
