"Jace is missing, and Sebastian has him!" I said worriedly

"Are you serious? You must be joking." said Isabelle sternly.

"No I'm not. Sebastian just called me from Jace's phone saying he is holding Jace hostage. He plans to have Jace be his 'right hand man' so-to-speak." I responded.

"So, basically, Jace is going to do Sebastian dirty work. What will he have to do, pick up his evil laundry or cook his despicable dinner?" Magnus said sarcastically.

"Magnus, there is absolutly no time for joking around right now." said Alec, a harshness in his tone.

"Aww really, I had a bunch more zingers like "Will he have to fill up Sebastian's evil bathtub?" Magnus said with a grin, "Oh, come on, those were pretty funny."

"Magnus!" Maia said firmly,"Not now."

"Is there any way to get him back?" Jordan asked, moving on.

"Not as far as I know, although, he did seem to want me to rule along side him. Maybe---"

"No, Clary," Simon demanded, his mouth forming into a scowl,"You will not turn yourself in instead of Jace. You hear me? NO!"

"But Simon," I whined, "It is the only way to get Jace back! I have to. You and I both know that."

"Yeah, but if you go to get Jace back, then we will have to worry about getting you back. And then the cycle will just keep repeating."

"Simon, have a little faith. Don't worry about me; I'll be okay. I think I might have another way to solve this." I responded.

"And what is that, exactly?" Isabelle asked.

"Well, when I was doing some research at the Institue, I realized I had never looked at the items on display at the back of the library. I saw these two rings that had leaves engraved on them. They looked interesting, so I looked them up in a textbook. Apparently, they are Faerie rings that allow you to communicate telepathically with someone else. So, maybe if we just get those rings from the Institute, then I can go to Sebastian. If Simon wears the other ring, then we can communicate and I can tell him about Sebastian's plans. The only bad part is that I could be gone for a while." I responded.

"Well, if that's the only way, then okay. Lets do it." Alec said after a moment.

"Alright, then off we go to the Institute!" I said as I started walking out the door.
