Heaven's Arena. That would be the first building I enter after living in the cold basement for 18 years of my life. My father nagged me, telling me to watch me back and to be careful and suspicious of everything and everyone. He was always protective of me, which is the reason why he kept me locked away in our house for my entire life. I was never let outside to socialize or even touch the green grass. Instead, I would be forced to practice my nen or lift weights. For as long as I remember, this is how it's been. Now, I can finally end this cruel routine and live life.

"You're 18 now, Y/N. I'm trusting you to be able to fend for yourself, especially after all the training you've endured," my father said. "I know, I know," I sighed, as I packed my bags. "Heaven's Arena is nothing b-" "Nothing but a stepping stone to my hunter career, I know, dad," I replied, cutting him off mid-sentence. For the past year he's been preparing me for this moment, the day he'd finally let me roam free. "Everything packed up?" he said as I threw my bag over my bag. "Yes, dad. I'm ready to go," I said in an annoyed tone, expressing how anxious I was to finally be let free. "Very well. Call me if-" "Call you if anything happens, I know," I cut him off again. I pushed the dark wooden door open, and set foot on the concrete pathway of our front lawn. I took a deep breath of the air, experiencing the smell of nature. I closed the door behind me and started walking, sensing my father staring at me through the house window. I didn't bother looking back, but instead I starting running, smiling as the wind pierced my face. I was finally free.

I was born at my home, with my mother and father. I had no siblings. My mother passed shortly after giving birth to me, at least that's what my father told me. From the second I could walk, my father taught me how to defend myself and fight. I learned nen at 4 years old. I'm a conjurer, so my father taught me how to manage that power. My daily life consisted of eating nutritious food, lifting weights, practicing my nen, and pushing my body to its limits. When I was 12, my father told me about Heaven's Arena. He told me that it would be the first place I go to demonstrate my power once I turned 18. He told me stories about his childhood and his experiences there. I would keep Heaven's Arena in my mind as a goal whenever I was training, knowing that everything I did would lead up to that moment. And now, the day has finally come, and I'm more nervous than I thought. Heaven's Arena... I'm finally ready.
