"Where's my mom?" Connor asked Daryl as he watches him, and a boy walks into the church. Daryl had a broken look on his face, everyone in the church watching.
"Your mom, she uh... she got into an accident. She's alive. And she's being taken care of, don't you worry. We'll get her back." Daryl promised. Connor had tears in his eyes, afraid of what happened to his mother. Though he put on a brave face, sniffling and nodding at the man before him.
"Who's that?"
"That's Noah. We helped him."
"Did he help mom?"
"Uhm..." Daryl looked at Noah, who gave him an awkward look, not knowing what to say.
"Yeah. He helped."

When I opened my eyes, I was somewhere beautiful. It was a field filled with flowers as the sun shined down on me. I was wearing a sundress. It was one I found on a run. I wanted it so badly. To go back to how things are.
I furrowed my brows slightly, confused as to where I was. Although it was beautiful, I knew it wasn't real.
"Mom?" I turned around, finding Connor, an older version of him, standing behind me.
"My boy." I cried, running up to hug him. He was clean, wearing nice clothing, a button-up, and a clean pair of slacks.
"Why are you here? Why aren't you at the church." My question confused me. I knew it wasn't real, but it felt so. The rays of the sun basked us in its glow. I smiled, letting myself slip into the peace this place gave me.
"Mom. You need to wake up."
"Why? It's so pretty here. No monsters. No death. Just you and me." I said sadly. It felt so right to stay. Like I belonged. But something was missing.
"Kat, you need to wake up." I turned once more, finding Daryl. I smiled wider, happy to find him here too. In his vest, he was cleaner, a button-up with no sleeves, and a pair of jeans. He looked nice with washed hair. Although I never complained about how he looked outside of this wonderland.
"Why? Everything I need is here. Why would I want to go back?" I felt my cheeks grow wet. I don't know when I started to cry or why, but I was confused.
"We need you on the outside. We need you alive and awake."
"But... it's so pretty here. Can we just... stay for a while?" I pleaded. The two took my hands, Daryl placing a kiss on one while Connor squeezed the other.
"Okay." Connor nodded. We both sat down on the grass, looking around.
"It's quiet. No walkers out to get us. No humans coming to kill us. Just us." I smiled. I laid down into the grass, the two lying down with me. I turned my head to look at Daryl, finding him already looking at me.
