"Be careful out there, okay." Kat was adjusting Daryl's vest with a sad smile. She didn't want him to go, feeling as though it was too dangerous.

"You keep the walkie on you. I'll check in every 30 minutes." He told her, caressing her cheek softly. Kat leaned up and kissed him, pulling him closer to her.

"Go protect us, Daryl. Come back to me." She smiled against his chest as he pulled her into a tight hug.

"I will." He knew she didn't like promises, but he was going to promise her in his heart and mind that he will always come back to her.

When Daryl left, Kat left Connor with Jesse's boys, knowing that Connor enjoyed the company, even if he didn't like the youngest. When he turned nine, he thought he was old enough to hang out with the big kids. It made her chuckle.

"So, you guys are official, I'm guessing?" It was Carol, walking into the kitchen as she began to make a casserole. The woman blushed and ticked a price of hair behind her ear, suddenly shy.

"You could say that." She said softly.

"You guys are adorable."

"Stop." She chuckled, slapping Carol on the shoulder softly. The older woman chuckled and shook her head, looking out the window. Carol suddenly frowned, seeing a woman Kat didn't know to smoke. Then a man attacked her, and their eyes widened. They quickly got ready and left to find the children, going to Rick's house and seeing Carl with a gun.

"I saw them upstairs. They're coming from all over." He said.

"You have to stay here and keep Judith safe," Carol said before running out with Kat. She quickly nodded at carl before following.

"What about Connor?" Kat asked worriedly. Carol shook her head and pushed another gun into her hand.

"Jesse has a lock in the boy's room. They'll be safe." She reassured. Kat nodded, and although she wanted to find her son, she knew she had to take down the men who attacked their home. She took out her knife and stabbed a man who attacked one of the residents after running around with Carol. Carol stabbed him in the head to finish him off and ran over to the woman.

Kat stood there shocked as Carol covered her mouth and stabbed the woman in the brain. A tear left her cheek at the sad scene before her. Carol let go of the woman by the steps and stood, giving Kat a sad look. The woman nodded to show that it was okay, and carol returned the gesture.

Suddenly, they heard a loud crash and a horn blaring.

"Shit. That's going to attract every walker for miles." Hissed the mother. Carol nodded and began to strip the man of his clothing.

"We gotta blend in-" Before she could finish her sentence, a man came screaming with a machete raised. Kat turned and ducked before slicing his stomach, his guts falling out, and she shoved her blade into his eyesocket as he fell to the floor.
