"Daryl?" Kat called over the walkie, clutching it close with Connor in her lap

"Daryl?" Kat called over the walkie, clutching it close with Connor in her lap. The woman sighed at the static she received but put the item down on the stairs.

"Is he okay?" Connor asked. Kat nodded and smiled sadly at her son.

"Of course he is. You know how things are. Sometimes there's no time to talk." She said, kissing the crown of his head and getting up.

"He'll be safe, right? Even with the walkers outside?" the young boy inquired. Kat stopped for a moment to think.

"He's Daryl remember. He can get through anything." Connor smiled at that, and Kat basked in the warmth of the sun. The sound of chatter and hammering as some of the men began to try to fix up a post.

"Kat." The woman heard from behind her, turning to find carol with a perplexed expression on her face.

"What's up?"

"Morgan is up to something. I'm going to go check it out. Jesse has Judith, but I want you over there too." Carol said. The older woman smiled at Connor and ruffled his hair.

"You be safe," Kat told her as she watched her walk off. Kat greeted Jesse at her door with a  smile, noticing she left the walkie at her house. Kat shrugged and walked up the white porch steps, passing the owl statue and walking inside.

"What brings you in here?" Jesse asked. Kat shrugged once more and sat on the couch with a  clingy Connor.

"I wanted to see how Sam was doing." Kat lied. Well, it wasn't a complete lie. She wanted to see how the little boy was, and she was worried for him.

"He's not doing well." The mother sighed, sitting next to her.

"What's going on?"

"He won't leave the upstairs. I have to bring him his food, and he leaves his plates by the steps. It's so frustrating and worrying. I don't know what to do." Jesse whined. Kat pursed her lips and nodded.

"There's not much we can do. He has to get through this on his own. No one will be able to help him but him. Just be there for him. Work with him slowly, and I bet he'll be better in no time." Kathrine told the worried woman. The blonde smiled and hugged the other, sitting back and spending their time watching Judith play on the floor.

Connor was getting close to falling asleep when a loud crash sounded outside, startling everyone. Jesse and Kat both hopped up, Connor grabbed Judith, and they ran to the window.

"The tower fell!" Kat cried, clutching the windowpane and breathing heavily at the sight of mounds of walkers filing in.

"What are we going to do?" Jesse asked. Everyone turned their attention towards the front of the house when they saw a gaggle of people running up, about to be attacked by the mob.

Kat took her gun out and ran, shooting the walkers that got too close to her friends. Jesse soon joined her, shooting the undead in their path.

"Come on! We have Judith!" Jesse called. Everyone quickened their pace and ran inside the home, slamming the door behind them. Rick dragged Deanna up the stairs and into a bedroom, Kat going into work mode and checking on the woman with Connor on her tail. She watched as Jesse tried to control a frightened Sam, but to barely any avail.
