Ch 1 Break Out

Y/N POV

It has been about three months since I met Lucille. Shortly after our encounter we began to hang out; now everyday during our lunch break we sit down and just talk. We each tell a little bit about the other and each learned new things. For example, I learned Lucille came to work here to help her single mother pay the bills and take some of the workload off of her. For her, she learned that I was sold into labor by my parents and tend to just keep to myself a lot.

We have become really good friends and whenever she gets picked on I always scare off the tormentor. Right now we are walking back from lunch break when one of the overseers stops us and pulls out the remote to my collar.

Overseer: "What do we have here?"

Y/N: "Nothing."

Overseer: "Really, because to me it looks like we have tow filthy Faunus mingling."

Y/N: "We're just good friends."

Overseer: "It still makes me sick."

He presses the button and my collar sends electricity into my body through my neck. I holler and drop to my back. Lucille kneels next to me and yells at the overseer.

Lucille: "You're hurting him!"

Overseer: "He's a damn animal that deserves to be beaten into submission!"

Lucille: "Leave him alone!"

I see her jump at the overseer when he dodges her and uses his baton to beat her senseless. I watch as he brings down the baton and see her try her best to defend herself.

Overseer: "All of you damn Faunus need to die!"

He brings down his baton one last time and I see Lucille black out. Something in me snaps and I can feel my body changing. My body feels like its getting taller and my muscles feel like they are violently expanding. I am able to power through the electricity and rise to my feet. I stomp to the overseer and grab his head. I then very violently slam his head into the side of the mine enough to dent the wall and hear something in him break. He slumps to the ground and a pool of blood starts to form under him. I walk to Lucille and pick her up to see her still breathing but in bad shape. I carry her away when I hear a alarm blaring.

Speaker: "We have a Faunus uprising, all units move to contain it."

I pull Lucille closer and run away. I run past a digging site when I hear guns being fired. I turn around to see a group of overseers firing at me. I duck behind cover when I look over and see other Faunus arming themselves and taking out the overseers. I use this moment to break from cover and run towards the exit.

I make it right as the Faunus escape and run past me. I look down at Lucille and feel something warm coating my hand. I gently set her down and look her over when I see her side bleeding. I carefully examine the wound and discover she must have been shot earlier. She opens her eyes and looks at me.

Lucille: "Y/N..."

Y/N: "Yeah, I'm here."

Lucille: "Tell my mom I'm sorry."

Y/N: "Hey come on kid, don't talk like that. I'm going to get you out of here and you are going to see your mother."

Lucille: "I'm... sorry."

I feel some tears escaping my eyes as I hug her and beg.

Y/N: "Please... don't leave."

She slowly returns my hug and pulls me close.

Lucille: "I love... you."

I feel her body go limp and silently cry as I hold her close.

Y/N: "I love you too."

I close her eyes and dig a hole for her. I gently lay her into the earth and cover her. I pat down the spot and say a silent prayer for her.

I turn around and just walk while ignoring the numbing cold of Solitas. After I don't know how long my body becomes like ice and I stop dead in my tracks. I look at my shaking hands and look off into the distance to see nothing but the never ending snow. I bring my foot out but before I can take a step I just collapse face first into the snow and pass out.
