Ch 12 The After Party

Y/M]N POV

I straighten my shirt and head to the place of tonight's event. I get a seat in the balcony that's near enough to the stage where Weiss can see me. I watch as she sings and when she gets finished I give her a standing ovation. After the performance I make my way to the after party and the moment I enter the room I am bombarded with glares and whispers about being here. I ignore them and just focus on having a good time. I grab a drink from a server and take a sip. The drink is Oum awful and is far from tasty. I hear laughter and look to see Weiss with her father. I walk to them and can hear what he is saying.

Jacques: "We offer the Faunus the exact same wages given to the rest of our mining staff."

Y/N: "Then how come we barely had enough money to cover our expenses?"

All eyes fall on me and they look shooked from my figure.

Jacques: "What do you mean?"

Y/N: "I mean, you claim to give us the same amount of money as the other miners but when it came time to get payed we only had enough money to cover our living expenses."

Jacques: "I can assure you we gave you the same amount."

Man: "What's a Faunus even doing here?"

Y/N: "I was invited, you got a problem?"

He cowers and thrashes his head no. 

Y/N: "Now if you'll excuse me, I'm burrowing your daughter."

Jacques: "You-"

Y/N: "You really want to make me angry?"

He backs down, scoffs and carries on with his conversation. I pull Weiss away far from her father's grasp.

Weiss: "Why did you do that?" 

Y/N: "I saw how miserable you looked and wanted to help you."

Weiss: "Oh."

Just then the band starts playing a song and I get an idea.

Y/N: *holds out hand* "May I have this dance?"

Weiss: *grabs hand* "You may."

I walk us to the dancefloor, put us in position and began dancing.

Weiss: "You are a good dancer."

Y/N: "Thanks."

Weiss: "Y/N."

Y/N: "Yes?"

Weiss: "How do you feel?"

Y/N: "About?"

Weiss: "Being here. With all these people who look down on Faunus and view them as nothing more than peasants meant to serve as slaves."

Y/N: "I'll admit I am a little nervous but I'm not worried."

Weiss: "Why?"

Y/N: "Because I have you here."

Weiss: "I don't-"

Y/N: "All my life people have viewed me as a monster because on my height and wings. But you were different. You didn't immediately feel afraid of me. As we started to spend more time together you became my friend and I started to enjoy our time together. Basically what I'm trying to say is that I like you Weiss and I mean more than a friend."

Weiss: "You mean that?"

Y/N: "With all my heart."

Tears fall down her cheeks as she lays her head on my chest.

Weiss: "I feel the same way."

Y/N: "I love you Weiss."

Weiss: *looks up at me* "I love you too."

We stare into each others eyes for a moment before feeling ourselves drawing closer. Eventually our lips connect and the world around us stands still.

3rd POV

As Weiss and Y/N kiss they are left unaware of the music stopping and every pair of eyes landing on them. There is then a collective gasp at the Schnee Heiress kissing someone and a Faunus no less. Soon the eyes Of Jacques Schnee fall upon his daughter and fury fills his eyes. As he marches over to his daughter various people pull out their scrolls and start taking pictures at the scandal before them.

Y/N POV

A flash makes me break the kiss and find that everyone is looking at us. Weiss looks around and sees what I am seeing. Jacques Schnee stomps though the crowd and marches up to Weiss.

Jacques: "How could you?! You damn Faunus have tainted my daughter!"

Weiss: "I chose this!"

Jacques: "No daughter of mine will ever date a Faunus!"

Weiss: "We love each other!"

Jacques: "This is absolutely unacceptable!"

Jacques looks at me and points

Jacques:  "You! Get out of my house!"

His eyes then fall on Weiss.

Jacques: "And you! You're coming with me!"

Weiss: "No!"

Jacques: "Young girl! I am your father and you will listen to me this instant!"

He than rather roughly grabs her and she winces in pain. My anger spikes, I grab Jacques by his neck and hoist him in the air while spreading my wings.

Y/N: "You will not lay a hand on her!"

Jacques: "Put me down you damn animal!"

Y/N: "You hurt her."

I raise him higher when something metal hits my head and I drop Jacques. I turn around to find Whitley holding a serving tray.

Y/N: "Big mistake runt."

I go to grab him when a gun is fired and my body is pumped with electricity. I scream in pain as I fall to my knees and pass out form the shock.
