The next morning...

Pamela : Hurry up ! Hurry up ! We'll be late for sign up !

Pamela raced through the academy , still holding a breakfast cookie in her paw and Colette still in pajamas on her shoulder . She encouraged her other friends to hurry .

Violet : Tanya will pay for not waking me up earlier !

Paulina : And to Nicky and I , our alarm clock batteries are dead !

Nicky : I hope we will not arrive too late !

The first lesson of the new class seemed so close that the mystery of the challenge once thrown at the two big clubs seemed far distant . The headmaster had reserved the gymnasium for Mrs. Ratyshnikov's classes . In the great room , the light flooded in through the picture windows and was reflected in the vast mirrors , fitted with dance bars . On the surface of the floor had been installed seats , intended for candidates for registration . Mrs Ratyshnikov and her three assistants were already present in the room . The Thea Sisters took their seats in silence , intimidated by the stern expression of the manager . But Professor Pli gave them a broad smile , which gave them a little courage . The penultimate arrival was Vanilla , who walked haughtily around the gym and settled in the very first row , in the place her friends had reserved for her . Camille : Mouseford students , I am pleased to offer you this class on the dramatic arts . It will be taught at the highest level , which is why you'll need to audition in order to enroll .

At the word "audition", a feverish whisper spread through the audience .

Camille : To earn a spot in my class , you must demonstrate that you know how to dance , that you understand music , that you can sing in tune , and that you have the gift of interpretation . And let me make one final thing clear : I will not tolerate cheating of any kind !

Paulina got up from her chair .

Paulina : We'll do our best ! If there's one thing we've learned here at the academy , it's how to work honestly and diligently .

Camille : We'll see about that ! Those who wish to try their luck will have one week to prepare a dance audition with costumes , music , and lights !

With these words , the teacher left the room which was buzzing with worried discussions .

Violet : Did you heard it ? Is it me , or does Professor Ratyshnikov seem to have a grudge against the who academy ?

Nicky : It's almost as if she's expecting us to fail...And she seems to think we'll try to cheat...

The three assistants of Mrs. Ratyshnikov remained .

Anna : The auditions will be challenging , but don't let that scare you off .

Robert : We're asking you to do a lot of work ! But we're not expecting perfection .

Rosalyn : The theme of the show will be the World Thought Dance ! Each team must use dance to express the way they see the world around them .

Nicky : What a cool challenge !

Violet : it could be really fun .

Anna : We're going to split you into small groups , but first we need to get to know you better ! We'd like to see you one at time so we can figure out which group you'd fit into best .

Robert : We'll call you in alphabetical order...

Embarrassed , Professor Show tried to decipher a scribbled and almost illegible list of names .

Robert : Or maybe we'll just go in random order ! ^^'

The students left to wait in the hallway.

Violet : I have no idea what's waiting for us in there...

Paulina took her paw and reassured her.

Paulina : Don't worry , Vi ! When you're in there , it'll just be you , and you'll be great !

One by one , throat tight , the students entered for their interview . When they left , they felt as light as feathers and immediately began to discuss with their friends the role that had been assigned to them . At the end of the day , the students were again gathered in the gymnasium to form the working groups . The Thea Sisters were appointed dancers from a team that included Dina and Tanya as costumers and Shen as music and lighting manager . The small company congratulated themselves happily , hugging each other . A little far away, Vanilla was also satisfied ; her team included all the Vanilla Girls (expect Connie who still missing) , as well as Vic , Sebastian and Craig . As the Thea Sisters walked out of the gymnasium where the teams had been formed , Professor Pli approached Paulina and gently touched her shoulder .

Rosalyn : You know , Bernaldez , I really appreciated what you said during the professor's speech . Honnesty and hard work are important , and I'm sure that you'll all do your best .

The other girls approached , intrigued , and Paulina took the opportunity to ask a question .

Paulina : Why is Professor Ratyshnikov so hard on the headmaster and the academy ?

Rosalyn : Professor Ratyshnikov is a very challenging teacher . Ever since she left Mouseford , she has demanded as much of her students as she does of herself .

Professor Ratyshnikov had to face him in a series of competitions , even thought they were good friends at the time . After the first challenge , the two teams were tied . Then , during the math challenge , Ratyshnikov pushed the girls team into the lead . But it wasm't over ; The final test was an athletic contest . Ratyshnikov's team was super prepared , but something wrent wrong , and the Geckos won . Professor Ratyshnikov accused de Mousus's team of cheating . But the headmaster at that time wouldn't hear a word of it . So she decided to quit .

Colette : What a sad story...That's a terrible way for a friendship to end !

Pamela : I just can't believe de Mousus would sabotage Ratyshnikov's team ! That doesn't seem like him ! He's always tought us to behave honestly and honorably !

Nicky : Mate , we've got to show Ratyshnikov the academy is a fair place now and help the headmaster repair an old friendship !

At night , Camille would secretly enter one or two of the student rooms at Mouseford because she had been ordered by her master to seize the Stones Sacred , so that no other Thea Sisters ally would wake up .
