Fall. Autumn. Whatever you call it, this season gives me a thought that no matter how beautiful it gets, it will still fall on the ground. Because of this thought, I hated it the most.
I extended my hand to catch a single falling leaf from the tree. It's still summer, however I can already feel the autumn. Some trees are turning into different colors and some are still green.
Autumn will surely look beautiful. I drop the leaf that I catched and rub my hands clean afterwards.
I sigh and look around, another bus just passes by. Feeling tired for a bit, I took a seat at the bus stop and rested as I waited for my friends. I placed my bag on my lap and just decided to watch the cars passing by as if I'm waiting for someone so that I won't look lonely.
Well I am waiting for someone, but Jiyeon told me she'd call once they're near. But it's been fifteen minutes and I still don't get any calls from her.
My family and I we're supposed to be going to my Dad's friend's dinner party, however it turns out this night will be a busy night for them; Mom's busy at the restaurant and Dad's at the Hospital. So, I'll be making attendance for them instead. I didn't mind, it's not a grand party it's more of a casual dinner party.
So I took this chance to ask them if I could have a sleepover and they agreed!
It's like a miracle, for a fourteen year old like me to be spending the night over my friend's home.
"Jieun!" I jerked at my seat when I heard Jiyeon shouting my name and running from afar and Dongmin walking just behind her.
"Oh my - Jieun, that's so pretty!" She exclaimed when she saw the clothes I'm wearing. It's a ginger - liked color shirt with a puffy long sleeve topped with a gray checkered jumper suit.
Finally, they're here. I thought I had to ditch them again if they wouldn't show up within 5 more minutes. I should've agreed when my father suggested he'd drop me off at Jiyeon's house. But I insisted that I'd go alone, because I really want to take the bus today.
"What took you so long?" I said, standing up from my seat. Dongmin extended his arm and asked for my bag. I gave it to him before then we started to walk away to reach his house.
"It's Jiyeon here who took a long time to prepare." Dongmin said, answering my question.
It's unfortunate that my house is far from theirs. I need to take a bus to get here. Whilst Dongmin on the other hand is just a couple blocks away from her house. It must be nice to live near your friend's house. I'm always bored at home and my brother Soobin, is currently in New York living with my cousins. So there's really nothing else to do except that I have to help my parents in our small restaurant.
Lee Dongmin is undeniably the wealthiest among us. Even so, he doesn't show it to everyone and always remains humble. We would always get invited to their party, even though Jiyeon and I have no agenda there. His mom loves to throw parties.
"All parties are fun if it includes me!" Jiyeon said out of excitement and Dongmin just scoffed at her remark, avoiding having I guess bickering with her.
"Can you believe autumn is finally coming!" she said excitedly; I laughed at her excitement, I remember when we were kids we always played at the raked leaves in their yard or even in the park. Then someone will get mad at us for making a mess again.
"This is the dress Mom bought me yesterday, I'm supposed to wear this for our family trip next week but I'm just so excited to wear it already." she said whilst smiling.
The dinner party starts at 6 o'clock, it's just quarter to 5 so I guess we're still early.
"This is supposed to be my first autumn dress but whatever." she added while giggling.
