As soon as I got home, I saw a package sitting on the coffee table. I figured the housekeepers must have received the package my cousin sent. Mom and Dad usually go home late at night and it seems like they're going to be even late tonight so I had dinner by myself.
After washing up, I decided to call my brother and he had told me he will come home soon before the year ends. It's been years since I last saw Soobin, he's my younger brother of two years. He's been living in New York with my cousins for almost two years now.
He was eating his breakfast when I called him. He showed it to me, even though he's in NYC they still wouldn't forget to eat rice, though he had told me they only eat it on some days.
"Seokjin hyung cooked breakfast." I looked at him disappointedly, he knew how much I love Seokjin's cooked food!
"I'm coming home, my training will end this month. They're both coming with me." my eyes widened at the news.
"Both of them are going with you?" I repeat, asking for confirmation if I had just heard him right. I suddenly remember Seokjin oppa's younger sister, she's also the same age as Soobin. But I guess she went to school already since I wasn't able to talk to her.
I had to say goodbye to Soobin early, his training starts in two hours. He passed me to Seokjin who was busy watching Tv.
"Did you receive the book already?" he asked, I nod in front of my phone.
"Are you sure you're going to give it away? I mean, that's a pretty generous gift Jieun." he chuckled at me. I roll my eyes and sigh, I don't want to regret any decision right now.
I actually had given thought of my present for Solbin. I really didn't know anything about her, except when I heard her talk one time about reading novels as one of her interests. I pretty much know about that and thought of giving her a book to read.
That's when Seokjin called me that he's given a ticket to meet and join an exclusive book signing of Mr. R.L. - he's a famous korean novelist in the U.S. all his works are known and some of his works got adapted into movies!
"I know, don't make me regret my decisions!" I said to him, I was supposed to buy two of his newly published novels and get them signed, but Seokjin told me that he only managed to buy two, one for himself, and one for me. I had no choice but to give up mine.
"I can always borrow yours anyway." I added confidently. His eyes widened and laughed at me.
"You know we never borrow books. That's a rule." he said in which I groaned in protest.
"Hey, you know me. I treat my books delicately!" I reasoned out, I badly wanted to have his new book. Too bad, there are just things that I can't have.
The call ended and Seokjin still wouldn't let me borrow his book. I have to think of ways to convince him. I stayed up for a few more hours practicing songs for the audition. I Facetimed Jiyeon and she told me that it will start next week.
I woke up when Mom knocked on the door and told me that I'm late for school already. I got up still feeling sleepy even after taking a quick shower. It's already 8 AM and my class for this day starts in 30 minutes so I really have to hurry.
"You got all your things?" Mom asked me as we made our way to the door. I double checked my bag to make sure before nodding at the question.
Mom waited for me to finish so that she could drive me to the bus stop even though I refused. The drive to the shop is opposite to where I'm going but Mom insisted. Once I got off, I quickly bid my goodbye and got on to the bus. I don't think I could make it to the first class.
