I sat exhaustedly at the bench. I glance behind, annoyed at Jungkook who is lying peacefully as his arm is shielding his eyes from the sky.
"Hey, aren't you going to help me?" I nudged him on the shin, I know he's not sleeping. I just saw him smiling at his phone earlier.
When he doesn't respond, I nudge him over and over until he sits in annoyance and frowns at me.
"What?" He asked boredly.
"I said help me!" I said while glaring at him.
We were issued detention and the Coach had told us to assist the students that are practicing soccer right now. They always kick the ball into different directions and I'm getting tired of running around the field chasing the ball. I swear it doesn't look like they were practicing well at all.
"Jieun, the ball!" I tore away my sight from Jungkook and glanced back at the field. They pointed where the ball went. I sigh and stand up picking up the ball beside me to throw it at them before chasing the other ball from the other side.
I was about to run after it when I thought of something. I looked behind my shoulder and saw Jungkook is now busy on his phone. I sat back but now fully facing him. I saw him shift uncomfortably when he saw me sitting across from him.
"Get the ball. It's your turn now." I said and pointed where the ball was. He just stared back at me.
"Why would I? It's your fault that I'm here." I scoff at his remark, now he's blaming it all on me?
"Wow, it's not like I forced you to go to school. It was your decision to follow me here." I said as a matter of fact. I raised my eyebrow at him hoping for his reply. But he just stared at where the ball was then sighed.
He stood from his seat and I smiled in victory as I watched him lazily walk towards the ball. I was busy watching him when another ball gently hit my shoe. I picked it up before standing, and one of the players went up to me to get the ball.
What is this? I couldn't help but feel somewhat annoyed because they've been kicking the ball outside the field too many times and it makes me exhausted!
"Jieun, sorry. You look tired already, I promise we'll do our best." He said as he reached me, I smiled and handed him the ball. He accepted it and I noticed how his hands softly touched mine as he reached for the ball in my hand.
"No, it wasn't that tiring at all. It was fun watching you guys practice." I replied and tried my best not to show that I am indeed feeling tired from all the running and bending when picking the ball. I just thought to myself that this is better than listening to a boring lecture in class.
"Really? Here, maybe you should drink this so you'll feel refreshed." I was surprised when he handed me his hydro flask. I couldn't help but smile at his gesture, I looked at him and he was encouraging me to take it.
I didn't want to look rude but I guess accepting his offer isn't such a bad idea after all. I was about to accept it but someone suddenly took it from his hands. We both looked surprised at Jungkook who was frowning as he opened the hydro flask.
"Thanks, dude, I was really tired chasing the ball you kicked." When did he get here? He's fast at walking huh.
"Hey Soohyun, get back here quickly!" one of his team yelled. Jungkook closed the bottle and gave it to him as well as the ball he was holding. I was a bit startled when he shoved it at him because it looked somewhat painful.
Soohyun groans at Jungkook and glares at him but he ignores his glares and takes a seat. He's been that one guy who always makes me run around the field the entire time. Good thing he got the memo that I'm feeling quite tired of this.
