Jiyeon couldn't hide her excitement for Solbin's birthday. Ever since the karaoke night we kept hanging out with her. She was more open towards us this time, and to my surprise, she was friendly to me now. I guess she was just not used to being around people even though Jiyeon is a bit extroverted, she has this power to make someone feel comfortable around her.
Just after a few days since school started, people around the school knew our names. It's probably because Dongmin usually hangs out with us and even saw their posts about karaoke night.
"Did you get invited to a birthday party tomorrow?" Dami asks, one of our classmates.
Jiyeon and I were hanging at the school's rooftop since we have free time before another class starts. We were joined by other students, some were even not our classmates. Most of their topics are about beauty and cosmetics, which I really couldn't follow since I don't have much interest in those things.
"Oh yeah, I was surprised when I got the invitation. I mean I didn't even know her." Euntak replied and they all laughed.
"I only saw her sometimes with Jungkook and Taehyung, she really only socialized with them." Seri from the other class - she's a friend of Dami and Euntak added.
"I think this is the time to get to know her, right? I talked to her before, she's really shy." said Jiyeon. I agree with her, although Solbin seems to look a bit snobbish, I guess she's nice because Jiyeon liked her.
"Right, at least she didn't forget to invite us." and they laugh again. I faked mine when I remembered how Solbin didn't actually ask me to come if it wasn't for Jiyeon.
We spent a few more hours hanging out with them. They're really fun to be with and tried to start a conversation with me when they felt like I was just quiet. Our topics went on and on as it feels like we hadn't known each other just a few hours ago.
When we got back to our room, we secretly switched chairs so that we were closer to where Dami and Euntak were. I noticed how Jungkook intently watched me as I sat down to my new seat. I am now seated on his left side, I raised my eyebrow at him and he just ignored me in return.
Euntak poked my arm to get my attention. I looked at her, she leaned forward so I did the same.
"We're thinking of going around Gangnam later to buy clothes, do you want to come?" I smiled at her and nodded my head in agreement.
"Sounds fun." I commented even though I have no idea what to do. I just want to hang out with them.
"We also kind of need to buy presents. What do you think we should get her?" Dami asked, I turned sideways to face them to give my attention. I already had a present ready for her though, but I'm still going with them later.
"She's turning fourteen right?" Jiyeon asked too.
"What do you think she likes?" said Euntak.
"Well, we could ask her friends?" I suggest carefully. They all turn their heads at me.
"Okay but who?" It was Euntak.
"I mean who - among us, would ask?" she added. I look at Jiyeon, since I know she's really the chatty one here, I guess she could do it. But instead, she smirked at me.
"Oh you know, Jieun is pretty close with her friend. Right Jieun?" She said it casually; but for me, knowing Jiyeon, I knew that she's teasing me.
"Really? You're close with.." Dami said with wide eyes, she shut her mouth when she realized that Jungkook and Taehyung were just a feet away from us.
"How did you do it?" It was Euntak's turn to tease me. They were all grinning at me, anticipating my story.
"I mean they're really reserved and private. They're nice but only consider us as their 'classmates' " Dami put both of her two fingers on the air quoting.
