Madison's P.O.V
I sat there with Harry for a few minutes trying to wrap my brain around what's happening.
"Please, Harry, explain everything to me," I said softly. "I can't help you when I don't know what's going on,"
He wiped his eyes and looked up at me. He no longer looked evil and mean. He looked sad and guilty. His eyes were red and puffy, his cheeks stained with tears. It broke my heart.
"I'm supposed to be mean and tough," he said. "I'm supposed to be so horrible and ruthless, but I can't be when it comes to you. You bring out the old me, the me before I even joined this gang. The old me is supposed to be gone,"
"Oh Harry," I whispered and wiped his cheeks.
"I can't help that I've fallen in love with you. I've been trying to deny it but I can't," he said. "I'm not supposed to be nice,"
"What makes you think you think you have to be mean?" I asked him.
"I'm known as one of the most ruthless gang members ever. I'm know for being heartless and incapable of love," he said. "but I love you,"
It broke my heart, seeing all the emotions he's been hiding all come back and hit him all at once. He wasn't a horrible monster. I pulled him into a hug and he sobbed into my shoulder. I gently stoked his curly brown hair.
"I-I'm s-so sorry," he choked out.
"Shh," I shushed him. "It's okay,"
He slowly stopped crying, but didn't pull away. I didn't let go. I kind of liked being close to him. I liked feeling him breath. I liked hearing his heart beat. I know he has one.
He took a deep breath and pulled away from me. His eyes were red and puffy. I took my thumb and wiped a remaining tear away from his eye.
"There," I said softly. "All better,"
He gave me a small smile. It was the first time I had seen him actually smile. "Thank you," he said. "I'm sorry for what I've done. I ripped apart your life, and back. I took my anger out on you. I hope you can one day forgive me, but I understand if you don't,"
"I'm sorry for snapping at you. It was wrong of me to call you a monster," I said. "Because you're not,"
"Do you think we could try to be friends?" he asked.
I smiled and nodded. "I think we can,"
He smiled and hugged me again. "Thank you,"
"Harry, do you think I can ever go back home?" I asked him.
He shook his head. "There's other gangs, Madison. The news that the ruthless Harry Styles has fallen in love travels quick. That's why I had to tattoo you, to show the others that you're one of us now. If other gangs got a hold of you, they'd hurt you and use you against me," he said. "Keeping you here means your safe,"
I nodded. It made sense. I mean, just look at what happened to Maddie.
"You'll be safe as long as you're here and with me," Harry said. "I'll keep you safe,"
I nodded and yawned. "Harry what time is it?"
"It's getting late, you should probably get some sleep," he said. "You can sleep in here tonight if you want. My bed will be more comfortable on your back than that cot,"
"But where will you sleep?"
"I can sleep on the sofa in the living room," he said standing and helping me up.
"Okay," I said. I wasn't going to argue, that cot was so uncomfortable. I walked over to his bed and crawled under the blankets. The sheets were silk and felt so nice on my back. The pillows were super soft and the comforter was thick and warm.
I snuggled into the pillows and shut my eyes.
"Sleep well, love. You deserve it," I heard Harry say and felt him kiss my forehead.
I heard him leave and I quickly fell into a deep and comfortable sleep.
