The second the lift doors opened for Scott and Brooklyn, Melissa was there. "This way." she ushered them, starting to lead them down the hospital corridor in her blue nurse's scrubs. "He came in about forty five minutes ago." she informed them. 'He' was a boy around their age that had come in to the hospital, and remained, screaming in pain. Melissa had called the pair hoping that Scott could take the boy's pain and only if absolutely necessary Brooke to heal him.
"Melissa." a doctor called who she acknowledged. "I'm gonna find an anaesthesiologist covering acute pain. See what you can do." he told her. Melissa nodded in reply.
The nurse came to a stop outside a door with Scott and Brooke either side of her. The boy's cries of pain could still vividly be heard from where they stood outside his room. "Mom, what's happening to him?" Scott questioned.
"It's the pain. Nothings working." Melissa replied to him. "We've already pumped him full of morphine."
"There's nothing else you can do to help him?" Brooklyn asked, her eyes a little wide as the boy's screams only got louder. Scott moved closer to the door.
"We can put him in a medically-induced coma. It's how we help burn victims deal with the pain." the nurse answered, facing the young girl.
"Let me see if I can help." Scott said. He pushed open the door and walked inside, the two girls trailing behind him. Once inside, Brooke was able to see the boy, who was in Liam's year, writhing around on the hospital bed in agony. Restraints had been placed on his hands and feet to try and keep him still.
His wailing filled their ears, horrible, wretched screams that notified you about just how much pain he was really in. A layer of sweat covered his forehead, his skin was pale and his face was scrunched up as he breathed heavily. "Please, make it stop." he begged.
Brooke and Scott shared a concerned look before the True Alpha grabbed one of the boy's hands. Pitch-black veins ran up the Hispanic boy's arms and even up his neck as he grunted, the other boy's horrific pain being transferred to his body. Brooklyn bit her lip, she hated seeing Scott suffer even if it was only to be short lived.
As the boy on the hospital bed relaxed and a happy, dazed look to over his face the Hale girl rushed to her boyfriend. "Scott. Come on. Let go of him." she commanded, trying to pry his hand away as he still groaned in pain.
Melissa came over too, helping the other girl successfully pull Scott away. The True Alpha gasped heavily, placing his arms on the hospital bed as he used it for support. "I'm okay." he told them after a while, though his breaths were still loud.
"Let me see it. Let me see his arm." Scott said to his mum, noticing the large white bandage on the boy's forearm. Melissa went to go peel it back while Brooke still held onto Scott. His breathing was evening out as she stared at him worriedly. She knew it wasn't good if you went too far.
Her eyes adverted back to the other boy when Melissa pulled the bandage away from his skin. Blood coated the white material as well as the boy's arm as it came from the ruined flesh. The injury looked more like an acid burn than a cut and very serious.
It was completely raw, you could see the spots of red and pink delicate skin in gaps between the blood. It was splotchy and quite frankly disgusting to look at. If you were someone who couldn't stand the sight of a slightly gruesome injury, this would definitely make the contents of your stomach appear from your mouth.
Brooklyn turned her head away for a second. She blinked a couple times before her eyes simmered back to brown. She hesitantly brought her eyes back, the injury was absolutely repulsing.
