Brooklyn was leant against her car as she watched Stiles' jeep being towed away. The Stilinski looked on sadly as it was taken away around the corner before climbing into the Hale's car with her. The drove a little in silence before Brooke asked, "Can they fix it?"
"There's not enough duct tape in the world to fix that thing." Stiles responded, playing with his fingers. He gazed down at his lap glumly.
"Maybe try something that isn't duct tape. You know, like an actual mechanic." Brooke told him.
"It's got a bad alternator, you know, needs all new belts, transmission's going... the brake pads are basically metal on metal." Stiles listed as he used his hands to empathise his point.
"Why'd you let it get so bad?" the Hale girl questioned.
"There's been a few distractions, if you haven't noticed." Stiles muttered.
"I've definitely noticed." Brooklyn huffed. Her brow furrowed a little as she didn't know which way to indicate. "Am I taking you home?"
"No. Sheriff station. I gotta talk to my dad." Stiles instructed. Brooke nodded. Stiles took a moment to study her as she was focused on driving. "Why aren't you blowing up at me like Scott did?" he inquired after a couple seconds.
"You know how Theo was the one to tell us about it?" the healer questioned. Stiles hummed in answer. "I don't think that what he told us is completely true. But Scott does."
"What'd he tell you?" the Stilinski asked.
"That you bashed Donovan's head in until he died, and then kept going. That he had to pull you off of him himself." Brooklyn answered.
Stiles sat up in his seat more and turned to the girl next to him almost pleadingly, "Brooke, that isn't true. It isn't."
"I know." the girl assured him. "I don't think you'd ever be capable of that no matter how angry you got."
"But Scott does." the boy in the passenger seat scoffed as he swivelled back round in his chair to peer out at the road.
"Well, Scott's being a bit of an asshole at the moment." Brooklyn told the boy.
Turning back to her with a raised eyebrow Stiles inquired, "Did he do something to you?"
Brooke let out a breath as her hands tightened on the steering wheel slightly. "We had an argument. He believes Theo and I believe you and then one thing led to another and we were full on shouting. He said something that, uh... that hurt. And I know it's the supermoon and all and Hayden's dying but, I, that shouldn't be an excuse."
Stiles looked at the girl with sad eyes. He knew how much Scott meant to her. He knew too well how much she meant to Scott. He remembered before they even started dating and how the McCall would never stop talking about her and how amazing she was. But, then, he never really stopped. Even when the two got together Stiles still had to sit through him raving about the girl.
"Did you two end it?" Stiles questioned.
"I, I..." Brooke struggled, she wasn't really too sure what they'd done. She didn't know if she truly meant the last words she had said. All she knew was she was angry, so angry. She had confessed everything to him only to have it thrown back at her face. "I don't know. I said I was done but I, I don't know."
"Scott cares so much about you, you know." Stiles comforted her. Even if he had lost his best friend, Brooke didn't deserve to lose her boyfriend. And he could see that she was hurt by what had happened. "I don't know what was going on his head but I'm pretty sure he didn't mean whatever he said."
