"They were murdered." Scott declared as he placed down Brett's broken and bloodied lacrosse stick on the table in between the small gathering and turned to face the eldest in the room. It was the next day, and he, Brooklyn, Lydia, Malia and Chris were all in the Argent bunker discussing yesterday's events.

"Killed by the new hunter in Beacon Hills. You know, when he took out the Hellhound, we thought that it was luck. That we were dealing with an amateur. But know we know that whoever this new hunter is, he has a teacher." the McCall boy continued.

"Gerard." Argent filled in having been already informed of the news. "Which means this is my fault. I'm the one who let him go."

"You couldn't have done anything." Lydia acknowledged.

"He could've killed him." Malia noted. Argent nodded while Lydia sent the werecoyote a sharp look. "Just saying." Malia uttered.

"We're not executioners." Lydia said firmly.

"You are when it comes to war." Brooklyn articulated.

"That's why we're gonna make peace." Scott announced.

Lydia turned to him with an incredulous expression."With Gerard?"

"Lydia, you know what's coming." Scott pointed out. The strawberry blonde let out a sigh. "We all keep using the same word."

"War." Argent denoted. Scott nodded.

"So what stops a war from happening?" Malia questioned.

"A peace summit." Brooke answered.

"Right. We meet face-to-face with Gerard. Find out what he wants and then we stop all this before it gets any worse." Scott told them.

"Last time Gerard was at a peace meet was with Deucalion. He blinded him and then killed everybody else, including his own men." Lydia exclaimed.

Argent stepped forward. "I'll go. He's not going to kill me."

"You sure about that?" Malia inquired.

Argent paused for a second before saying, "Not really." making most of them let out breaths or scoffs.

"All we need is to find out what he wants. Then we can bargain." Scott expressed.

"Even if he does agree, his terms might be difficult to meet." Argent responded.

"Well, that's why it's a negotiation. I don't expect to get anything without giving something up." Scott confessed.

Argent moved closer to Scott and looked him straight in the eyes. "Then you're gonna have to figure out just how much you're willing to give, and how far you're willing to go to stop a war."

"It's a trap." Brooklyn observed as she followed Scott down the stairs of the McCall house the next day.

"She said that she would meet to talk." Scott shared as he reached the bottom of the staircase and turned to walk down through corridor. 'She' was a woman called Tamora Monroe, the school guidance counsellor who also just happened to be the new hunter in Beacon Hills.

"Meeting alone in the middle of the tunnels with a werewolf hunter? It's a trap." Brooke repeated.

"Then what do you want me to do?" Scott questioned. He stopped in the middle of the kitchen and turned to face the smaller girl.

"Don't go." Brooklyn replied simply.

"Gerard is recruiting new hunters, and he's murdering our friends. He's not gonna stop unless I convince him that we're not the enemy." the McCall boy related.
