Brooklyn sat in the large library absentmindedly tapping her foot against the floor as she studied. The room was dead silent allowing the girl to focus solely on her homework. A small smile played on her face as she easily answered the science questions. It may have been due to the fact she'd actually payed attention to the teacher in lesson for once but she'd doubted she would do it again. It was boring as hell.

Having answered all the equations on the first page of the booklet she flipped the sheet over and read the next question. The small smile on her face dissipated in an instant as she became stumped. Brooke's brown eyes squinted as she stared at the one word she didn't know. She racked her brain for an answer but drew up blank. She could've sworn she'd never even seen the long, confusing and difficult word before.

Without thinking, she began raising her head saying, "Hey, what does-" The Hale girl cut herself off as her eyes flicked to the empty chair in front of her. More confusion crossed her face as she stared at the unoccupied piece of wood. Why did she think someone would be there? All of her friends were in lessons right now. Yet she couldn't shake the feeling that someone should've been there. That someone normally was.

Scott and Lydia were in AP science. Malia was in maths. Hayden, Liam, Mason and Corey were all in history. That didn't leave anyone. But Brooklyn couldn't seem to let it go. She wouldn't have started asking her question if she didn't expect someone to be there. So who did she expect?

With a huff, she shut her homework booklet and rubbed her forehead. There was no way she was going to get anything done now. She quietly packed up her stuff and headed out of the library. Brooke pushed the confusion to the back of her mind and made her way down the hallways to the car park.

As she was walking she couldn't help but notice a head of strawberry blonde hair. Brooklyn watched Lydia for a moment seeing as she should've been in class and saw that she was heading right for a moving car. "Lydia!" the Hale girl instantly reacted, running forward to grab ahold of the other girl's wrist and tug her off the road.

Malia joined their side also and the two cousins glared at the car who only honked. The two of them turned to Lydia who was breathing heavily and not quite meeting their eyes. "You okay?" Brooke asked.

"I'm fine." Lydia sighed.

"What were you doing?" Malia inquired as she stared at the girl concernedly.

The strawberry blonde looked straight up at them then, meeting their eyes. "Trying to remember."

Brooklyn drew closer to Scott as the night breeze picked up slightly. The McCall boy tightened his arms around her, placing a kiss on her forehead as he did so. The two of them were currently waiting for Malia and Lydia to show up at the woods so that they could go searching. The Hale girl rested her head against her boyfriend's chest when her eyes began to droop slightly. She was still half asleep since she had been awoken when she felt Scott's presence leave the bed and hastily followed him out here.

She felt the boy soothingly run his hands through her hair when the familiar blue car rolled up. "Took them long enough." Brooke sighed as the two girls clambered out of the vehicle. She felt Scott's chest vibrate slightly. The Hale girl moved away from him and took ahold of his hand instead but frowned slightly at the loss of warmth. Scott handed Lydia and Malia a torch each as the two girls sidled up next to them.

"I went to bed at home and I woke up out in the woods. About a mile out. I think there's a reason why this happened." the True Alpha told them as he began leading them through the woods. "I've been out here before. It was the begging of sophomore year the night before tryouts for first line. I remember because it was all I could think about."
