The others looked up from their seats when they saw Draco rushing out of Val's dormitory and straight to his own. He was hiding his face, and his whole composure just looked so down, and destroyed. They all shared a couple of glances before Lolita set off for Val and Theodore went after Draco.

"Val?" Lolita asked when she walked in. She glanced over and saw the girl just sitting there on her bed. She was staring at the floor, an emotionless expression on her face. Something had happened, something bad. "Val, what happened?"

"He broke up with me." She shook her head. Lolita's eyebrows knitted together, wondering if she'd heard her correctly. This came as a surprise to everyone. Everything he'd said, everything he'd done, it didn't add up.

"That's bloody impossible." Lolita mumbled out as she leaned down in front of her. It just didn't make any sense. Draco was head over heels for that girl, and everyone could see it. You can tell by the way he looks at her. Anyone who remotely knew Draco knew he'd never looked at anyone with so much love and fondness before. "I'm going to kill him."

"No." Val cleared her throat. "He made his choice. If he doesn't want me, that's on him."

"You're right about that one..." Lolita sighed. "This doesn't make any sense. Did he seem weird? Off?"

"Very."

"This can't be his doing. There has to be something else going on. I refuse to believe that after everything he said and did that he doesn't have feelings for you anymore. This isn't how this is supposed to be. Everything's just wrong." She fell back on the floor, leaning against her bed as she stared at her hands in front of her. She inhaled sharply as her eyes began to get watery. Maybe Cedric's death, this whole thing, was affecting her more than she originally thought.

"Don't cry, 'Lita..." Val frowned. "I won't be able to keep myself together if you do."

"I can't help it." She looked up at her dark eyes. "Everything is awful and it's not fair. I hate Voldemort. I will never stand with him, and I hope you never do, either. I never want something like that to happen again. I can't lose any of you."

"I know, me too." She moved over on her bed, patting the spot next to her. Lolita joined her, and the two girls pulled each other into a hug and just held on like that for a while. "Maybe he was just never who we thought he was. Maybe we give him too much credit. Maybe... he did all of that on purpose. He just wanted to play with me. He gets some type of enjoyment out of that."

"But you can't lie on Veritaserum." Lolita replied. She was going to figure out what was up with Draco. If anyone could get it out of him, it was her. She just had her ways with people.

"It doesn't matter." Val sighed. "What's done is done. Either way, I'll never trust him again."

Theodore knocked on Draco's door. There was no answer, but he knew he needed to go in there and figure out what was going on, from Draco's perspective. The boys were very reserved with their feelings and their ability to care, but deep down, they really did. Theodore used Alohomora to unlock the door. He opened it hesitantly and peeked inside. Draco was sitting on his bed, his head in his hands. He was shaking as he cried his heart out. Theodore shut the door quickly after him and walked over to the boy. He wasn't even sure what to do about this. "Get out."
