Val and Draco boarded the Hogwarts Express for their sixth year. They went early so Val could attempt to avoid the others. She didn't know how she was going to do this. She cared about them so much, but she knew she had to distance herself for their own safety. She hoped one day this would all be over and they would understand. She just really hoped they understood.

She sat next to Draco on the train, Blaise, Theodore, and Lolita sitting in front of them. Crabbe, Goyle, and Marcus sat next to them at another table. Behind them was Pansy, sitting with Daphne Greengrass and Milicent Bulstrode. All of them were wearing all black suits and attire. Draco sat on the end as he kept getting up and looking around. He was acting extremely paranoid. The other three could tell something had happened this summer, making them different. Val almost didn't look the same. She was constantly wearing her hair straight, her makeup was darker, and she was wearing all black like Draco. They looked like one. Neither of them were smiling at all, and they weren't particularly all over each other like usual. Well, they were, but not in such a lustful way. They just clung to each other. At least they seemed as close as ever, though.

"So, what were Draco and Val doing with that weird-looking cabinet?" Harry glanced between Ron and Hermione who sat in front of them in his compartment. They wondered why Val hadn't joined them like usual, but they figured she was with Draco. It was still kind of unsettling, but they didn't give Harry's ideals two thoughts. "And who were all those people? They didn't look by any means friendly. And isn't the werewolf a Death Eater?" They just gave him blank looks, Hermione shrugging. "Don't you see? It was a ceremony, an initiation."

"Stop it, Harry. I know where you're going with this." Hermione shook her head, looking up at him from her book.

"It's happened. He's one of them, and because of that, Val is now, too." He suspected, and Hermione shook her head. Ron was just confused, because he couldn't imagine an idea as crazy as this one.

"One of what?" He asked.

"Harry is under the impression that Draco and Val are now Death Eaters." She explained in an amused tone. Ron laughed.

"You're barking! What would You-Know-Who want with Malfoy? And besides, Val would never do something like that." He dismissed him.

"Well, then, what was he doing in Borgin and Burkes? Browsing for furniture?" Harry scoffed, but he should know that's not nearly enough proof.

"It's a creepy shop, he's a creepy bloke." Ron shrugged.

"Look, his father's a Death Eater. It only makes sense. And because Val's dating him, now she is, too." He continued, then paused. "Besides, Hermione saw it with her own eyes!"

"I told you, I don't know what I saw." She shook her head at him, going back to her book. Harry was clearly irritated by the fact that they didn't believe him when he stood up from his seat with a huff.
