"hi jade!" cat squealed as she opened the door to toris house. jade walked in to see cat, beck, and tori sitting on the couches normally.

she looked down at her watch, 8 o clock exactly. that meant robbie and andre were officially late unless they had legitimately pulled up behind jade. she was a very time orientated person, she would never be late or early. just right on time.

she scanned the room with her eyes before walking in and throwing her coat onto a pile.

suddenly the door opened and robbie and andre walked in.

"hey guys! what's up!" tori greeted.

"you're late" jade said flatly and robbie rolled his eyes playfully.

they all sat down on the couches in somewhat of a circle, and jade couldn't help but stare at how close tori and beck were sitting. she tried to avert her glare but her eyes wouldn't move. even though she knew she was staring lasers into the two her eyes just wouldn't move away. she probably looked brainwashed. brainwashed by this stupid guy in front of her that she could barely stand to talk to, but here she was, unable to move her eyes off of him now that he was sitting close to another girl.

the group laughed as always and jade tried to laugh along. her breath stopped when she very clearly noticed becks hand wrap around toris shoulder. she froze immediately, the sight of him just so nonchalantly loving someone else. like it was nothing. like jade wasn't sitting right there in front of him. like they hadn't dated for three years. like she didn't know every detail about him and he didn't know everything that had ever happened to her for three years.

tori leaned her head against becks shoulder and jades cheeks flushed a dark red shade. looking like she was very much about to explode as beck ran his hands through toris hair softly. like he used to do to jade.

but things change.

nightmares do come true.

everyone's talking dulled and soon all of them were staring at beck and tori. silently watching them stare at each other. andre could have sworn he saw jade gag.

"looks like beck won the bet" robbie cut in and tori and beck snapped back to reality.

tori giggled. for a little too long. jade rolled her eyes.

"ya i guess i did" he replied giving jade a "i told
you so look" she sighed, crossing her arms.

"this is gonna be fun to watch" andre muttered under his breath ready for anything to explode at any moment. particularly jade.

"fine." she answered and everyone looked shocked.

"fine?" tori repeated in pure shock.

"ya fine. you won." she repeated and beck nodded slowly.

"be careful it could be a trap!" cat piped up and jade sighed.

"it's not a trap. you got a girlfriend first so you won. a deal is a deal." she said one last time looking at beck. she couldn't see through his eyes like she usually could. they didn't have emotion like they usually did.

"ok then i guess the loser bet starts tomorrow" beck said quietly and jade nodded in agreement. neither of them spoke much for the rest of the night either. stolen glances as each other just hoping that the other would look back for eye contact were constantly being exchanging. but no one noticed.

it was late now, and tori had invited them all to stay the night. they all slept on the floor of the living room in various colors of sleeping bags. it wasn't jades first choice but she was having some fun with everyone besides tori and beck and had decided to stay instead of driving herself home this late.

they all settled down and in a few minutes she looked around to see everyone out like a light. no movement and an odd wave of silence across the floor of the room they all laid on. she let her eyes close, trying to imagine anything else besides the reality where she was.

she woke up at some point during the night, all too lazy to check her watch because it involved movement. she tuned over in her too small sleeping bag. how did people ever fit in this thing? it was also incredibly hot in the sleeping bag, but outside the sleeping bag felt like the artic ocean. she sighed in frustration, getting out of her sleeping bag and feeling her way to the bathroom. she closed the door and flipped on the lights. her dark colored hair pulled on top of her head in a messy ponytail and she stared into her reflection in the mirror.

signing and breathing slowly in and out. staring at her oversized t shirt and short shorts. looking at herself and breathing in and out. suddenly the door swung open quickly and a tired looking beck stumbled in rubbing his eyes.

"jeez! beck.... you scared me." she jumped as he opened his eyes at her standing there with her hand on her heart as she breathed and her chest moved up and down.

"s-s-sorry i didn't know you were in here..." he stammered as she blinked at him.

"it's ok." she replied quietly looking at his reflection in the mirror in front of them. he pushed his hair back out of his face and she noticed his eyes rested on hers in their reflection.

"so good job with the bet" she tried to fill the air with meaningless words.

"ya um thanks but i just...." he slowed faded out his words but she wanted to know.

"you just...?" she repeated but he shook his head. she just sighed in response.

"i didn't think you'd be able to get a girlfriend that fast" she glad joked, trying to make thing less awkward. she didn't know why he wouldn't just leave and leave her alone.

"ya well tori just kind of showed up at the right time and i thought you would fall in love with ryn-" he tried to speak but she interrupted him.

"how could i ever love someone else beck?" she said suddenly and he froze.

"hey... you're the one who ended things jade." he replied almost too quickly. like he had prepared for this conversation. she snapped her head to his eyes, making their stares meet. he could behind her eyes, and she could finally see behind his.

"because i was mad at you, not because i stopped loving you. and i know we weren't perfect beck." she replied suddenly making him swallow.

"far from it. do you even remember the fucked up things we used to do for revenge and all of that? jade we were a mess." he reasoned with her but she wasn't having it.

"but i've never felt this way about anyone else beck. and i can't just watch you walk away and leave everything we have behind. because i've seen you do it before and i didn't stop it and i regret it everyday." she admitted and he felt his heart drop.

his heart still beat for her after all this time.

and it always would.

"jade i just don't-"

"and it's hard for me to even imagine how you could be so okay now that i'm gone" she cut him off, not wanting to hear what he had to say because she was thinking of the worst.

"jade-"

"i guess you didn't mean what you said that night-"

"JADE-"

"but we were something special and if you didn't-"

he sighed realizing this was his last resort. her grabbed the sides of her head, pulling their heads together and smashing his lips against hers. moving their lips rhythmically to the others as he heard her moan softly into the back of his throat.

he smiled softly into the kiss and for a second,

it was going to be ok.
