Mina: Uwuuuuh! It's prettier than I thought.
Chaeng: What do you mean? You haven't been here?
**Mina's eyes were busy scanning the entire park. Eyes full of excitement and happiness.**
Mina: Yeah! I only see it in photos. But I always wanted to go here.
Chaeng: How long have you been here in Korea? Three years? Yet you haven't gone here?
**Mina turned her head towards Chaeng, staring at her with sad eyes.**
Mina: Hmm...
**Then she nodded.**
Mina: I don't have anyone to accompany me. Everyone's busy with their personal stuff.
Chaeng: Oh! That's bad. Well, of course, I would rather come here with friends than roam around alone.
Mina: Hmm...
**Friends. It's not what Mina thought. She's thinking of walking here with someone special. It's perfect for that.**
**I'm such a hopeless romantic. Mina told herself.**
Mina: You come here often?
Chaeng: Not really. The last time I came here was with Somi. She likes trees, so I brought her here.
**Oh! So you bring that Somi girl here before me? She wants to ask but stopped herself. There's no point in that. They're not even talking at home.**
**Mina snorted, but Chaeng didn't notice that. She just dislikes Somi so much. It's not like she did something to her. It's just, she dislikes her 'cause she keeps on clinging to Chaeng during their trainee days.**
Mina: Hmm... Sweet!
**She whispered.**
Mina: You're really close, huh?
**Mina's mood changed from high down to the middle of the scale. This is bad! I should not show my dislike to that girl. She thought.**
Chaeng: Yeah. We started the training on the same day, and when we worked in the same group, then we clicked immediately.
**Why does it feel like her mood changed? Chaeng asked herself.**
Mina: That's great. So, you go out regularly? I mean, even now that both of you have different schedules?
**Mina's trying her best to hide the sudden change in her tone. She knows, and she could hear herself that the way she spoke changed.**
Chaeng: After Sixteen, we don't see each other more often, but she calls me every now and then.
**They continued to walk, while Mina is still trying her best to divert her attention to all the beautiful flowers and trees around them.**
**It's so serene, she thought. But that thing about Somi kind of ruined the serenity of the moment.**
**MIna nodded at Chaeng's last premise, and Chaeng noticed it.**
Chaeng: You're not friends with her, don't you?
**I have no reason to be friends with her. Mina wants to say.**
Mina: Hmm... I couldn't speak Korean well, which makes it hard for me to communicate with people.
**It's not the real reason why she's not making friends with her, and she knows that. She doesn't like her because she makes her so insecure. What's in her that you like? She wants to ask.**
Chaeng: Right! I might be as aloof as you are if I'm on foreign land.
**Chaeng stopped and looked around.**
Mina: Why? Something wrong?
Chaeng: Wrong?
**She said softly.**
Chaeng: No! No! There's nothing wrong. It's just, this is a picture-perfect spot.
**Flowers are full-blown. Each tree around that spot has a perfect amount of leaves, and the fallen leaves around the floor are so mesmerizing.**
Mina: Oh! Really?
Chaeng: Yeah! Yeah! Why don't you stand there? I'll take a photo of you.
**Mina moved and stand at the spot that Chaeng pointed.**
Mina: Here?
**Chaeng pouted and shook her head once.**
Chaeng: A little more to your left! Yeah! That's it! Stay still.
**She pulled her phone in her pocket.**
Chaeng: Okay, ready?
**She raised her left hand to count in her fingers.**
Chaeng: Perfect!
**Mina rushed towards Chaeng, and while Chaeng was scanning the photos she took, she was smiling.**
Chaeng: You're so pretty.
**Chaeng didn't expect that she'll say it. But it's done, and she couldn't take it back anymore. So just let it be. Hoping Mina won't think about it differently.**
Mina: Really?
**Her inside was jumping everywhere. But she suppressed it, even though she could feel her face was burning in fire.**
Chaeng: Uhm, ye---yeah!
**She answered nervously.**
Mina: But Somi's prettier.
**Surprised with what she said.**
**Chaeng didn't notice the abrupt comparison. Instead, she showed Mina her disagreement. Maybe Somi is taller, but she finds Mina prettier.**
Chaeng: Of course, not! She's my friend, but I like how pretty you are.
**Shit! Why do these things keep on slipping in my mouth? She asked herself.**
**Mina turned her head and looked straight into Chaeng's eyes.**
Mina: Thank you. I think you're cute, too!
**That was the best thing that Mina heard for a while. At least that confirms that Chaeng isn't into Somi.**
**Chaeyoung suddenly felt another dryness in her throat.**
Chaeng: Let's go? It's quite a long walk and we're not in the middle yet.
**She finds me cute, too? Wow! I didn't expect that. She thought.**
Mina: Yeah! Sure!
**She said, still smiling at what she found out.**
