Chaeng: I only bought one.
**Then she showed the lock she bought at the convenience store to Mina, who's sitting at the bench with their iced coffee beside her.**
**It was a medium-sized lock, just perfect for Chaeyoung's size. Little and cute.**
Chaeng: I chose the red one 'cause of the color of strawberry for me, and ketchup for you.
**Mina chuckled. She's really odd but cute. How could you be both at the same time? She thought.**
Chaeng: You don't like it? I can exchange it for another one. What color do you want?
Mina: No! No! I'm fine with it. I actually like it. I didn't know we have something in common though.
**Then she grinned.**
Mina: But you only bought one?
Chaeng: Should I buy two?
**Are we going to lock our names with that one? I don't mind though, but what's in your head? Mina wants to ask.**
Mina: No! I'm just asking. I thought only couples use one lock for their names?
**That's my point. I know it will be impossible for us to be together, but at least in this lock, I could bind myself to you. Chaeng wants to say.**
Chaeng: Is that so? O---okay! I'll buy another one.
Mina: That's fine! I just asked, I didn't know you don't know.
**I know that. I just want to play dumb about it. 'Cause I want to write my name next to you. Chaeng thought.**
Mina: Anyway, here's your iced coffee.
Chaeng: Oh! Thanks.
**Is she for real? Doesn't she really know? Mina's mind never rests from asking.**
Chaeng: I'll put my name on this side, and yours on this side. Okay?
Mina: Hmm... Okay.
**Mina took a sip of her coffee while Chaeng was busy writing her name at the back part of the lock. She wants the back part so Mina could lean on her whenever she feels weak. And she wants Mina in front, so it's easier for her to watch her.**
Mina: Did you... I mean, you and Somi have that thing, too?
**She hesitated to ask that question, but she's dying to know the answer to it. 'Cause, maybe Chaeng is just nice and sweet to all of her friends.**
Chaeng: What do you mean?
**Chaeng didn't immediately realize what Mina was talking about, that she was talking about Somi again.**
Mina: You know. Having one lock for both of your names?
**Chaeng's attention was still fixed at the lock and her pen.**
Chaeng: No!
**She answered instantly.**
Chaeng: I bought mine and she bought hers. We both didn't want to put our names in one lock. Hmm... I couldn't remember where I put it thought. Maybe...
**She raised her head and scanned the long wall of locks.**
Chaeng: Maybe somewhere there.
**She pointed at the almost far end corner of the wall in front of them.**
Chaeng: I'm done. Here.
**She handed the lock and the pen to Mina, which Mina instantly get from her hand to write her name.**
Mina: Hmm... This is my side?
Chaeng: Yeah! Or wherever you want. But I prefer you to put it there.
Mina: Okay! I'll take your preference.
**Chaeyoung watched Mina hunched down and write on her lap.**
**It's the first time they spent so much time together, alone. They're always surrounded by the members, and sitting beside her is always an impossible thing.**
Mina: Done! Should we put it now?
Chaeng: Yeah! But where do you want to hang it?
Mina: There?
**She pointed at the middle, though it's already packed with different colored locks.**
Chaeng: Hmm... Are you sure?
Mina: Yeah? So we're in the heart of this long wall?
**It's more of a question 'cause she's waiting for Chaeng's approval for it.**
Chaeng: Good explanation. I'm impressed. Then let's go for it.
**Both of them stood up and carry the lock bearing their names.**
Chaeng: Imagine if all of these locks were locked by couples.
Mina: Which means there are lots of couples in the world.
**Yet here I am single, and waiting for the signs that one day you'll like me, too. Mina wants to blurt out.**
Chaeng: I wonder how it feels to have someone who'll hold your hand while walking in this romantic place.
Mina: Want to try?
**Mina said impulsively, handing her hand to Chaeng. Not regretting what she did.**
**Chaeng felt her face went warm. Shit! Am I blushing? She asked herself.**
**Will she gets it? If yes, I'll take it as a sign. Mina thought.**
Chaeng: W---why not?
**Couldn't look straight at Mina's eyes, yet took it and hold it in her side.**
**I think I'm going to faint. I think I'm going to faint. Chaeng keep on repeating in her head 'cause she couldn't believe Mina will offer her hand to her casually.**
**Shit! Is this really possible? Is there really a chance? Please don't give me false hope. Mina told herself while they walk hand in hand, finding the right spot for their lock.**
Chaeng: Can I have the lock?
Mina: Hmm?
**Mina wondered why Chaeng was asking for it, yet she handed it over to her.**
Chaeng: Can I put something on it?
Mina: What?
**Chaeng didn't answer. Instead, she just wrote it down. A tiny heart in the middle of the top part of it.**
**And Mina was so pleased with what she saw.**
