The cold stone floor against your slightly warm skin was the only reminder that you were in fact still alive and not dead like you imagined you'd be by now. How long could these people keep you captive for? The creak of a sliding door caused your shivering figure to jolt in surprise.
"Food."
A burly man with dark brown hair pulled back into a medium length ponytail glared harshly through the small arch shaped opening filled with bars, just big enough for you to see the upper half of his face. A metal tray was roughly dropped on the floor, a good portion splattering to the ground as the clambering sound echoed through the cell you called a home. Your (h/c) ears flattened in fear and disgust as you crept towards the plate, taking advantage of what scraps were remaining on the plate.
Your (h/c) tail tucked between your legs as you heard a grunt of disapproval, "Humph. Just like the beast you are. Enjoy your scraps."
His figure retreated from view and a large door slammed shut in the distance, rattling the metal door just a tad. Once you had finished the food, you rested with your back against the rough wall, sighing in agony as your throat ached for something to drink. You had lost track of your time in this village as a prisoner. It had probably been months since your (e/c) orbs made contact with anything other than the candle lit darkness and the rare ray of sun that peaked through a mouse sized hole in the wall. The men of this village poked and prodded at you. They cast magic to make you obey their will, or attempted to at least. They wanted to know how you were a neko and what abilities you could manifest. They wanted to take any power you had, though you claimed to have none other than the teleportation and small bites of illusionary magic you could create before becoming too weak from imprisonment.
While lost in the fading hope of seeing the outside world, the walls shook violently, dust falling heavily on and around you. Your eyes widened a bit as you stood abruptly. You turned to study the wall as the area grew silent. After a few moments passed, another earth quaking shockwave rattled the ground and area around you, and this time was followed by screams of panic and agony. You pressed your ear to the door, but it was useless as all the screaming muddled into one indistinguishable cry for help. You scampered to the hole and peered through the hole for any sign of what was going on. Smoke was slowly filling the air, making it hard to see. Your eyes widened in panic as the sudden flash of a shiny object caught your attention. The item was hurtling straight for you so you huddled in the furthest corner you could find.
A piercing sound filled the air as a glistening object blasted the walls apart, through the locked door of your cell, and planted itself in the wall just outside of it. You were forced to squint your (E/c) eyes as dust, smoke and sunlight flooded the room.
"Honestly Gloxinia, I thought we agreed you'd aim your holy treasures for the center to make this quick." A proper sounding voice resonated from a distance outside.
"Where's the fun in that Monspeet? Drole and I wanna have some fun. Besides, Estarossa didn't say we had to finish quickly." A slightly more feminine sounding voice shouted.
You didn't hesitate any longer and darted out of the destroyed wall. Your feet, although ecstatic to feel fresh grass once again, they were frantic as they carried you towards the trees. The drags you called clothes swayed in the rushing wind and your (h/l) (h/c) hair whipped violently across your eyesight. Freedom was so close. You could taste it on your tongue. Your limbs tingled with exhaustion, but the open sky and shrouding forest was calling to you more.
Then as if by some cruel fate, your feet no longer felt the grass prickling the soles of your feet. Instead you were face to face with a large silver haired male who held an evil smirk as he held you inches from him. Your eyes took the time to capture his appearance. Large muscular chest with toned arms to match, noticeable even through the dark purple top he wore. The dark mark that circled his left eye sent shivers down your spine, the hairs on your tail standing on end.
"Hmm. What do we have here?" His voice was melodic, yet threatening.
You shrunk in his grasp as the feminine voice from earlier piped up, "Huh. Must've been what scurried from the prison. I'll kill it for you Estarossa."
Your face paled as you could feel your heart rate drumming in your ears as the man named Estarossa tilted his head, "I think I'll keep this one."
