'That's enough.' you thought to yourself as you gently set down the cup of tea you'd been drinking.

Your boyfriend, Kiba Inazuka, just kissed your cheek goodbye again as he gave you one quick notice of his leaving before walking out the front door. You and Kiba have been dating for about 5 months now and at first, everything was fine. You, Kiba and Akamaru would hang out nearly every day. So much so you decided to move in together, being the grown adults you are. However, for the third week in a row, Kiba has spent everyday outside of the house doing who-knows-what during all hours of the day. Well, today was it. You had had enough. It wasn't just that he was gone every day, but most nights he'd just come home, bragging about how great his day was, how much fun he had, and everything else positive. It was a huge contrast to your response, which was the same seemingly every day.

'Just cleaning. Making dinner. Light shopping. Nothing special.'

Kiba would ask no more questions and then go on about his day as if it were the greatest thing in the world. As if spending time outside of the house, without you, made him happier than the opposite. You were tired of doing nothing while your supposed boyfriend didn't even stop to consider how you felt or if you'd like to join him on any daily tasks. It was like they were just... friends. The only semblance of a couple was their shared place adorned with their photos, and what little affection they show each other when Kiba is around. Things were changing and they weren't for the better. You had come to a resolution. You walked to your room, showered and opened your closet wrapped in a towel. Your (e/c) eyes browsed the selection for something casual but more nice than usual. You put together an outfit you were quite proud of, threw it on, and began a quick fix on your (h/l) (h/c) hair. Today was your day and nothing would change that. You grab your house key and quickly head out the door and into the town for a bit. The day was warm with the sun out and a gentle breeze blowing. The smell of sakura trees blooming was a great reminder of the wonderful spring that Konoha was having. You stopped by a few stalls, grabbing a few articles of clothing and a couple of snacks along your leisure walk.

"(Y/n)!" A familiar voice called out to you and you slowly turned your head as a smile tugged at the corners of your lips.

"Ino. Sai. It's nice to see you." You greeted them with a gentle wave of the hand and Ino hugged you a bit tightly while Sai waved in response.

Sai's smile remained as he spoke, "It's not normal to see you out by yourself. Possibly shopping for Kiba?" Sai asked monotonously as he gave slight reference to the bags you were holding.

You look down and back up, hesitating before speaking up with a sense of confidence, "Actually they're for me. I just thought I'd treat myself is all." you explained.

Ino clapped her hands together joyfully as her eyes closed and her blonde ponytail bounced behind her, "That sounds amazing! Sai and I were just talking about going out with friends tonight. You should totally come!"

You smiled a bit but then frowned as you considered it. It burdened your mind that you may not have time to cook dinner, or that you might not be home when Kiba got back. Then again, he doesn't care so why should you?

"I'm in." you agreed.

"Great! We're meeting at that new barbeque bar near the center of the food square. See you there at 7!" Ino gave no room for a response or backing out as she finished her sentence and dragged Sai in tow as she rushed off.

The thought of finally going out with friends was oddly exciting. You found it hard to contain your smile as you continued walking down the strip of shops.

Hours went by as you walked the town, only adding a few more bags to your collection before heading back home. Since you had gotten out around noon today, it was almost 6 before you finally made it home. Not to your surprise, but to your disappointment, Kiba wasn't home. The lights were off and as you entered the bedroom, nothing had been disturbed either. You let out a deep sigh as you unpacked your bags and dressed in a new outfit that you had picked out today. As you stood in the bathroom, looking at your face in the mirror, you hesitated on if you really felt like going out tonight. Would it just end up being pointless? Will Kiba be there? Questions daunted your mind until you brought your hands to your face and slapped your cheeks a couple of times, just hard enough to leave light red marks from the impact.
