You let out a breathy sigh as the carriage rocked with each thick bump or hole that was hit in your journey. Your hands rested carefully on your lap, fiddling with the hems of your clothes as the carriage ride passed in silence. Your (e/c) orbs stared at the sky, the sun hidden behind a group of clouds making it seem late even though it was barely midday. You had been summoned to the Phantomhive Manor in urgency and you were forced to clear your schedule for the rest of the day in order to make this meeting.
'This better be important for me to cancel so many appointments.' you thought to yourself.
Your company, which did great business with the Phantomhive company, was thriving better than ever. You were running the company better than your family ever thought that you could. At least that's what you assumed by the lack of disapproving looks they were giving you now. It was a long driveway to the pristine Phantomhive Manor, to which you were traveling to today. In the yard was the young boy with yellow blonde hair who was trying to very neatly trim the hedges. The carriage came to a gentle stop and before you could even reach for the handle, the door swung open, not making a sound as the tall male with dark hair and devilishly red eyes stared down at you. His eyes, while dark in color, never frightened you, but instead intrigued you. You never failed to take advantage of the few minutes you had together before and after your meetings with the Lord.
"Welcome once again (Lady/Lord) (Y/l/n)," he said and bowed deeply.
He escorted you from the carriage to which you replied, "No need to be so formal Mister Michaelis. (Y/n) is just fine. I have told you this every time I have visited," you assured him.
A smirk spread upon his lips, "And the same for you (Lord/Lady) (Y/n). Sebastian is quite alright. The Young Lord is waiting for you in the meeting room. I'll escort you."
Sebastian's smirks were always unsettling, holding a mystery as if he knew a joke that no one else did. As you walked towards the steps, you bowed your head slightly to the yard boy, Finny, as you finally recalled his name. Sebastian opened the door and you walked inside. The maid, Mey-Rin, was on a ladder, dusting the chandelier, shaking terribly. The pair made their way up the main stairs and to the left. A loud and sudden crash erupted from the downstairs area.
"What was that?" you questioned.
Sebastian waved his hand dismissively, "Nothing you must worry yourself with."
Moments later Sebastian opened a door where Ciel Phantomhive sat at a desk, his hands crossed with his chin resting on top of them. You walked to sit in the chair on the other side of the desk, facing him.
"What is the meaning of this sudden meeting Lord Phantomhive?" you questioned respectfully.
Ciel sighed, "Never one to beat around the bush are you (Lord/Lady) (Y/n)? Well since you brought it up, it seems there have been some discrepancies in the money that you were funding to my company."
This time, you leaned forward, resting your chin on your own hands, "What sort of discrepancies?"
Ciel opened a file and skimmed the words, "In short, (Lord/Lady) (Y/n), your company has shorted mine by hundreds of dollars."
Your eyes widened, your (e/c) eyes staring at the file he was holding. You were in shock and disbelief and it took you quite a few moments to regain your composure. You straightened your back and cleared your throat as your eyes set on his, with a cold stare.
"You must have made a terrible mistake Lord Phantomhive. My company has not shorted you anything. I can assure you of that. I handle all the money myself before sending it to my company supervisor to deliver." you said matter of factly.
