It's been two weeks since my birthday, and they've been crap. Mason and Keira left a couple days afterwords because their pack needed them. I stayed in my room until they left, which caused Mason to grow worried about me, but I knew he'd be fine. He occasionally calls the house, and I try my best to answer, but some days are just hard to move out of my bed let alone have a conversation with my brother. He told me he was going to get me a new cell phone since I magically "lost" mine. Occasionally Mitzi would drop a letter off, saying I should stop by her office for a check up. I haven't left my house. Every time I think about leaving my house, I end up having a panic attack. I am afraid that if I left the safety of my home, that somehow Desmond would come find me. The thought of going through that again terrifies me. I've had nightmares about it ever since it happened.
I heard the house phone ringing from downstairs and groaned. I sluggishly climbed out of bed before walking downstairs. My body felt heavy and I had no energy to move, but I did anyways. I looked at the phone, seeing Mason's number flashing on the screen, before I answered it. "You call too often," I answered carrying the phone with me to the table.
"Well, today is exciting," He yelled happily from the other end. I felt my stomach start to turn and started taking shallow breaths. I didn't tell Mason about Desmond or the rejection. As far as he knew, I was pouting because I didn't find my mate. "So Keira's baby appointment was today! It was such an amazing sight, Ollie." Mason started to go on about the appointment and how excited he was, but I couldn't focus on the words he was saying. My stomach churned the wrong way and I felt the bile rise up. I quickly got up and ran to my kitchen trash. I tossed the phone on the counter as my stomach forcefully emptied itself. I slowly knelt on my knees as I pulled my head out from the trash. I took deep breaths, trying to regain my strength. Adeela let out a soft whimper. She hasn't spoken much to me this past week, but I'm glad to know she's still there. I slowly got back on my feet and picked up the phone. I went to apologise but Mason cut me off. "I'll be there in an hour," He said coldly before the line went dead.
My breath caught in my throat as the phone slipped from my hand and crashed against the floor. My hands went to my hair and I started pacing. "What do I do? I can't tell him what happened. He'll flip!" During my pacing I started to get light headed and held onto the counter. You need to eat, Oliver. I shook my head at her. "It just ends up coming right back out." I could feel Adeela weakly pawing at the surface. Please. Eat for me. I sighed before walking to my cupboards. The thought of food alone had me almost face first back into the trash can. I reluctantly grabbed out the bag of pretzels before sitting on my couch. I started to nibble on the pretzels slowly. Thank you. I nodded, continuing to slowly eat them.
Just as he said, Mason came walking into my home after an hour of me sitting on my couch trying to plan out how I was going to tell him I was rejected. He didn't speak to me as he picked me up and started carrying me out of my house. My anxiety spiked as I began to panic. "Mason! Put me down," I yelled as I started to flail around. Mason struggled to get a hold of my struggling form before he threw me over his shoulder. Flashes of Desmond carrying me to the shed shot forward as I started fighting even more. Tears started to well up in my eyes. "Put me down," I yelled.
Mason ignored my pleas. I was too busy panicking to see where he was even taking me. Mason threw open a door and I heard a gasp before Mason gently placed me off his shoulder. He started leaning into my face, and in that very moment, I couldn't see my brother. I saw Desmond. My eyes squeezed themselves shut as my hand came up and quickly slapped him across the face. I felt hands grabbing my own and I started to panic even more. I started yelling and fighting whoever was holding me. "Oliver! Oliver stop! You're okay! It's me," I heard Mitzi shout in front of me. I opened my eyes gazing right at Mitzi. "Its okay. You're okay." I looked behind me to see Mason staring at me with wide eyes, a hand holding his cheek. My hands covered my mouth as I looked at him.
I started to sputter out apologies, but he quickly came over and hugged me. "It's okay. It's okay. I should be the one who's sorry," he said. I hugged him back tightly. "When I heard you getting sick, I just knew something was wrong." Werewolves didn't get sick often. It was very rare unless dealing with two events: pregnancy and rejection.
We stayed in our hugging position for a moment before he pulled back. I wiped my eyes and Mitzi looked at me concerned, coming from behind my brother. She didn't say anything as she started guiding me over to the table. She first started turning my head to look at my throat, then had me turn around to examine the back of my head. She was muttering to herself the whole time she did this. She had me turn back around and she pushed up my sleeves. They ended up scarring where the zip ties had cut into my skin. I looked up at Mason, seeing him leaned up against the wall. His arms were crossed and his jaw was clenched. Mitzi let go of my wrists and sighed.
"Everything looks like its healed properly. I just want to check one final thing," She told me . I nodded as she told me to lay down. I scooted back on the table before doing as she told me. She pulled over this weird machine. She turned the screen toward her before holding a wand in her hand. She picked up this bottle with her other hand before flicking off the lid. "Now this is going to feel a bit cold." She squirted this cold, thick jelly onto my stomach making my stomach jolt. She used the wand and waved it around a bit before pausing. "Oliver, did you take that pill I gave you that night," she asked me staring at the screen. I looked at her confused, my breathing quickened from her question.
"Of course I did. I took it right after you gave it to me," I stated. She turned the screen towards me and I felt my world start to fall apart. On the screen was a little misshapen dot. I sat up and started shaking my head. "No. No that can't be true." I pushed the wand away from me and stood up beside the table. Mason came over and tried to put his hand on my shoulder but I slapped his hand away from me. Tears were falling from my eyes again. "That has to be a lie! I took that pill!" Oliver, it's not. We threw up that pill. I felt my stomach twist at Adeela's words and I rushed to the closest trash can. I felt a comforting hand rubbing my back as the pretzels I ate slowly came back out of me, mixed with a bit of crimson.
When I was done, Mitzi handed me a cup of water. "I'm going to let you two talk," She said before walking out of the room. Mason and I sat there in quiet for a bit. I sipped on the water, using it to rinse out the metallic and wretched taste out of my mouth. I looked up at Mason seeing anger and sadness in his eyes. I could tell he had a million questions in his head. I continued to look at him as he looked at me and opened his mouth to say something, but when no words came out, he looked away from me.
"I didn't know how to tell you," I started to say. Mason's gaze snapped up at me. "I mean, how are you supposed to tell someone something like that?" His gaze softened at me and I looked away. It fell silent again. Tell him what happened. Tell him who did it. I shook my head at Adeela. "I don't want to, Adeela." Mason kept quiet as I started talking to my wolf. Telling him can help you. He can help us do something about it. I paused for a moment before shaking my head again. "I can't."
I felt a hand on my knee, and I looked up. Mason was looking at me with tears in his eyes. "I am here for you. You can tell me anything," he told me. I licked my lips before taking a deep breath. I told him everything that happened. About us finding my mate, my mate binding our hands and raping us, and about the rejection. By the time I was done, Mason's wolf Ehno had taken control and was snarling. "I'll rip him apart," he growled out, his deep voice mixing with Mason's slightly lighter tone. We quickly got up and started heading to the door. I scrambled to get up before running towards him. I grabbed his arm, causing Ehno to quickly turn around. He pulled his arm out my grasp and stepped towards me. "I don't give a damn what rank he is! We're telling the Alpha and if the Alpha doesn't do anything, I will!" I didn't mean to, but I flinched when he angrily talked with his hands. He paused for a moment before he came over to me. He started looking down at my tiny for a moment before he licked my forehead. I looked up at him as his gaze softened. "I'm sorry. I didnt mean to scare you." When i told him everything was okay, Ehno stepped back, letting my brother have control again. "Are you going to keep it," he asked me, gesturing to my stomach.
My hand followed his, pressing my hand against my stomach. There was a life inside me. A life that shouldn't exist in me, created from a terrible act. It was a child of a monster. It's our child too. Adeela defended. My hand gripped the shirt covering my stomach. Oliver, it's a part of us. We can't just get rid of it. It's our child! I moved my hand off my stomach and ran it through my hair. "I don't know," I told Mason. Adeela growled at my answer.
