My hand rubbed my chest as I laid in my bed,  Mason curled up on my side snoring softly.  Ever since I left the party my chest has been hurting.  I just couldn't think of any reason why.  Was I too stressed? Was it anxiety for leaving Mason alone? I wasn't sure.

I leaned slowly off my bed to grab my phone off my nightstand, making sure not to jostle Mason around too much. The brightness of the screen had me squinting my eyes as I looked at the time. 07:30. I groaned before carefully sliding off the bed.  Mason held his wolf, which he named Lovey, closer to him. I sighed in relief before escaping to the kitchen.

I poured some water in a mug and started heating it up in the microwave.  I blamed the chest pain for not being able to sleep.  I yawned,  covering my mouth with my hand.  I hadn't pulled an all nighter since Mason turned two,  but it seemed Mr. Sandman didn't want to visit me last night.  I pulled the cup of hot water out of the microwave before pulling out some green tea packets.  Most people would drink coffee when they were tired,  but I preferred the taste of tea.

I leaned against the counter looking out the back door.  The sun was shining bright today,  and there wasn't a cloud in the sky.  I debated for a moment on playing outside with Mason once he got up before heading to the kitchen to start breakfast.  As I started cooking eggs and bacon,  I decided that after I took a nap that Mason and I could go outside and play ball or something.  Tomorrow him and I will be at the day care and with the new pups going outside wasn't much of an option.

I set up the food on the table before heading upstairs.  When I looked at Mason on my bed,  I couldn't help but take a photo of him.  His thumb had somehow found a way into his mouth. He had folded his legs under himself so his butt was pointed in the air, Lovey trapped under his body.  I snickered,  putting my phone in my pocket before gently shaking his frame.  "Mason,  it's time to wake up." Mason's legs slid out from under him as his face scrunched up.  His thumb popped out from his mouth as he turned his whole body away from me, trying to fall back asleep.  "I made us breakfast.  Why don't you come eat with Mommy?"

I continued shaking him until he sat up,  his hands in tiny fists as he rubbed his eyes.  He wore a tiny glare as he spaced out. Mason was not a morning person and you could easily tell. "Do you have to potty," I asked him.  He shook his head no at me  before he tried to lay back down. I started shaking him awake again,  but he wasn't having it.  He started to do that tired cry and I sighed.  "Its time to wake up.  Let go get you some food." I picked him up and started to walk downstairs. He rested his head on my shoulder, little sniffles escaping him. "Are you falling asleep?" His little head told me no as we walked into the kitchen.  I strapped him into his chair before taking my own seat.  I watched as he slowly munched on one strip of bacon, his eyes focused on the back door as he slowly started to wake up. I couldn't help but chuckle at him as I ate my food.

It took him a minute but after eating and playing around in the bath, Mason woke up and began being his happy, energetic self.  I let him try to brush his own teeth as I brushed mine. "All done,  Mommy," he said before giving me a big smile.  I smiled down grabbing his tooth brush before going over his teeth one more time.  I grabbed a washcloth, drenching it in water before wiping around his mouth.

I picked him up and tossed him into his bed,  causing him to giggle at me as he rolled over.  I fake screamed before throwing his towel back over him.  "Aaaagh! Cover the naked butt," I said causing him to laugh.  I chuckled walking over to his dresser.  "What does my handsome man wanna wear today?" I started putting together three outfits and laid them on the floor. I helped Mason slip into his underwear before he walked over to the outfits.

He picked up his race car shirt and handed it to me. I helped him pull the clothes on, noticing that the pants were a bit shorter on him then they were two weeks ago.  I checked the size seeing they were 4T which usually fit him. "You're getting too big," I told him.  He gave me a quick hug before running out of his room.  "Careful!" When I heard the little butt-scoots he does to get down the stairs on his own, I couldn't help but chuckle at him.
