I can't smell anything with everyone and this rain,  Xavier complained.  I could tell he was frustrated. He was on the other side of the party trying everything to catch the smell of our mate.  We both were getting antsy because we knew our mate is in our pack. Their faded scent was not only on Mom's shirt,  but over the pack house, but we couldn't find him anywhere at the party.  I greeted people as they welcomed me home.

We'll find them.  Maybe they went into town for something, I linked back. I was staying hopeful. I wanted nothing more than to find them.  I knew they would be perfect. Xavier and I had talked about how we imagined our mate. We didn't care what they looked like or even what gender they were.  We knew they'd be caring. Every Luna was.  They'd probably be smaller in scale to us.  They'd probably love kids.  We smelt their scent all over the daycare. That made us happy cause Xavier and I want to have kids, so we know our mate knows how to care for them. They'd be innocent and shy.  We just knew our mate would have waited for us, just as we did them.

The rain was pouring down,  but it wasn't a blinding rain.  The raindrops were small enough for us to look out and see everything we wanted to.  The smell of the rain was just as calming as the sound of it.  It fell at an angle due to the slight wind.  The pack did a good job at everything.  They had lights strung up on the canopies since the sky was dark, the food everyone made tasted outstanding, and they even had since games for the kids to play with to entertain themselves.  I was impressed with the teamwork everyone had here.

After a bit,  I decided to go meet up with Xavier. He came over to me, sipping on his drink.  "The pack really outdid themselves for this," I told him. He nodded.  I had an amazing idea.  I looked around before deciding to grab one of the few chairs they had sitting around and stood on it.  I whistled loudly, drawing the attention of the pack.  I smiled around at all of them.  "I just wanted to thank you guys for the effort you put into making this happen.  Xavier and I are so honored to be a part of this amazing pack." Everyone smiled at each other and started to clap. I caught my father giving me a thumbs up,  my mother pressed to his side smiling at us fondly.  I smiled at them before leaning down and snatching Xavier's cup out of his hands, which caused him to look at me confused.  I held the cup in the air and the pack members who had cups followed my lead.  "To Blue Moon!"

The pack echoed my call before downing their drinks.  I stepped down off the chair and handed Xavier back his cup.  "Nice speech and all,  but you could've gotten your own cup." I chuckled at him.  It wasn't long before we went back to mingling with our pack.  A lot of the girls in the pack came to talk to us, some of them having a pleasant conversation with us.  Others hoping we were their mate.

When Xavier and I separated again, a few of the pack girls approached me. One in particular stuck out to me. She had long brown hair, some of it wet no doubt because of the rain. She was wearing revealing clothing despite the weather started to get cooler. Her low cut shirt and tiny skirt left little to nothing for the imagination.  She smiled at me seductively. I tried my hardest not to roll my eyes at her.  "Welcome home," she said slowly,  leaning forward towards me.  I greeted her back,  not wanting to be rude to her.  I could tell she was eying me up and it made me feel uncomfortable.  I took a step back from her.  "I'm glad you are enjoying the party." She stepped closer to me,  obviously not understanding by me moving back that I wasn't comfortable with her that close.

I backed up a bit more just as the wind picked up.  That's when I faintly smelt that sweet honey smell that had Proi excited. My eyes widened a bit. The scent was distorted because of the rain,  but I could tell it wasn't too far from where I was.  I put my hand on the girls shoulder,  slightly moving her.  "Sorry,  if you will just excuse me for a moment," I told her before walking away.
