Just as things were getting hot and heavy in the bathtub we hear a loud crash of glass breaking.
"What the fuck!" I said as we both jump up and I grab robes and throw one to him. I unlock the safe and hand Coop his gun.
"Let's go down and check it out." Coop said.
We tiptoe downstairs and the kitchen was clear. Then we walk into the living room and see a big rock sitting on the living room floor with something spray-painted on it.
"What does that say?" I ask him.
"I'm not sure but we should call this in and get dressed. Don't touch it in case of fingerprints." He said.
"Your right call it in and get dressed," I said in a daze walking back upstairs to slip on some clothes.
Coop calls it in and changes clothes and we head to the kitchen waiting on other units to show up.
"Who is coming Coop?" I ask.
"It will be Baker that's who I called." He said walking over hugging me from behind.
"I had a feeling something was going to happen. I'm so fuckin pissed Coop." I said gritting my teeth.
He spun me around and kissed my lips as the doorbell went off. "I will get that V," He said.
When I opened the door Baker walked in with a couple of other cops that I don't know. They all introduced themselves and went to the living room to take pics.
I stay in the kitchen rooted to my spot when Coop walks back in. "Well the rock says Bitch." he said.
"Of course it did," I said banging on the counter with my fist.
"I'm sorry V. They will leave someone posted outside for the rest of the night." He said.
"What fuckin for? We are cops and no way I'm sleeping now." I sigh.
"I'm going to help clean the glass up and we will get a piece of plywood put up." He said.
"I'll get dad fix the glass today. I'm not calling him now having him come over. He's going to freak either way." I said.
Baker walks back into the kitchen. "I'm sorry to meet you this way. I'm Aaron Baker."
"Nice to meet you, Baker. I'm Violet Reece." I try to smile.
"I've heard great things about you. Don't let this get to you. We will get them." He smiles.
"Oh I know we will and I'm going for the source," I said.
"You know who did this?" Baker asked.
"Pretty sure," I said walking over to the sink.
"It's a case we have been working on." Coop said.
"I'll make coffee make yourselves comfortable and we will fill you in, Baker," I said.
After several pots of coffee and explaining everything, Baker was on board with all that was going on.
"But why did he target your house, Violet?" Baker asked.
"Because we put his people away. He's tired of playing nice." I shrug.
"But he doesn't know that we know who he is. Maybe we can catch him at Denny's and take him down that easily." Coop said.
"That sounds like a plan. I say we go talk to Karen and have her text me when he shows up. We need to talk to the chief later." I said.
"I'll talk to the chief when I go back to the station and I'm sure he will let you know. If you are going to take him down then you need backup." Baker said.
"Ughh that means slimy Jeremy," I said.
"You don't like him either?" Baker laughs.
"No, I can't stand the pervert," I said taking a sip of coffee.
"I like you already." Baker smiled.
He was a nice-looking guy when he smiled but he was nothing compared to Coop.
"Alright, I'm going to get out of here. The guys put a piece of plywood up and I'll fill the chief in. Try and get some sleep." Baker said standing up.
"Thanks for coming. We will talk to the chief when we get in." Coop said following him outside.
I sit back in my chair and sigh. I guess I asked for this becoming a detective but I didn't think my own house would be in the mix.
Coop walks back in and over to me. "Do you want to stay here or go over to my apartment V?"
"Stay here. I am not going to let anyone run me away from my house." I said.
"That's my girl." He said pulling me into a hug. "If you want to sleep I will be glad to stay up." He said.
"No we both need sleep. We are going to go upstairs and go to sleep Coop. I'm not going to live in fear or stay up when we work tonight. But when we get up we will go talk to Karen because I'm going to put Andrew away." I said.
"We will figure it out V. Let's set the alarm and go upstairs." He said.
I cut the lights out and he sets the alarm and we head back upstairs. I didn't put our guns back in the safe I put them on the nightstands so we can get our hands on them. That makes me feel better anyway and he didn't say anything.
We change clothes and get in bed and he pulls me close to him and kisses my forehead. "Don't you worry V we will get him." He said.
I fell right to sleep in Coop's arms not even worrying about Andrew because I know come tomorrow night I'm going to take him down.
Coop tightens his hold on me and I open my eyes and notice it's 7 am. I really need to use the bathroom.
I slide out of his embrace and tiptoe to the bathroom. When I come back out Coop is sitting up in the bed.
"Morning V! Do you want to go talk to Karen?" He asked.
