Even though I am now twenty-four my dad and Uncle Gray are still looking out for me. I finally start my new job as a detective next week and I'm so nervous.

Dad found me a house closer to cookie grounds but it's still on the beach and I love it. He still spoils me after all this time and Uncle Gray and Aunt Remi furnished my place. They know I've always loved this house and I love green. Mom also did some of the decorating.

I guess at some point I need to introduce myself to the neighbors. Such a big house for little ole me. I can't wait to tell Sierrah she's going to love crashing here that is if Uncle Gray lets her.

I look around my new living room and out the window down at the beach. I think that's what I will do today. I will go down to the water for a while and then to cookie grounds for a snack.

I run upstairs and change into my favorite aqua-colored bikini and slip on my cover-up and head down to the water.

I love to people watch and see hot guys running on the beach don't hurt. I spread my towel down in the sand and take my cover-up off and lotion up. Slip my sunglasses on and enjoy the heat baking down on me.

My phone beeps and I sit up getting it out of my bag and see it's Sierrah.

📱Where are you? Dad told me about your house I want to see it.

📱I'm on the beach in front of my new place catching some sun. Come join me you know the big green house I love? That's where I am.

📱Ok, I'll see you soon.

I put my phone back in my bag and glance over at some guys playing in the water. All muscles and no brains. I look away and lay back down.

A few moments later I feel droplets of water dripping on my torso and my eyes spring open to a guy standing over me with his dripping wet hair falling on me.

"Can I help you?" I sit up hurriedly.

"Just thought you might want to come down to the water with us." He said.

"Thanks but no I'm waiting on my friend," I said.

"We just thought a hot girl like you might want to hang out with a bunch of washboard ab guys." He smiles with super bright teeth. "I'm Rob by the way."

"Nice to meet you Rob but I'll pass. Thanks though." I smile at him.

"Can't fault a guy from trying." He smiled and ran back into the water.

Yeah, he may have been a nice guy but just not my type. I lay back down on my towel when Sierrah plops down beside me.

"Oh my god did you see those hot guys?" She giggled.

"I did. Do you see that one with the dark curly hair? Well, he came over and tried to get me to swim with them. His name is Rob." I laugh.

"And you turned him down? What is wrong with you?? If I knew my dad wouldn't kill me I would swim with them." She laughs.

"Uncle Gray would kill us both." I laugh.

"So you start your new job next week and you got a house. I'm jealous! So why are we down here in front of these houses?" She asked.

"I'm glad you asked. See that green house behind us? It's always been my favorite right? It's now mine.!" I laugh.

"Shut up for real? Oh my gosh, Violet you lucky turd." Sierrah laughed.

"Come on let's pack it up and I'll show you around. You know you gotta stay the night some. I'm not sure I like this big house all alone." I said standing up picking up my towel.

I give those boys in the water another look before turning and heading up the long steps to the house.

"Gawd Violet those steps are murder." Sierrah laughs.

I unlock the door and we step into the kitchen.

Sierrah's mouth drops. "Oh my, it's gorgeous! I love it. I know our parents had a hand in it."

I show her all around and order some pizza and we get comfy for the night with a movie.

"So do you know who your partner is going to be?" Sierrah asked.

"Not yet I don't even know if it's a he or a she and I am nervous. I mean I'm the new person coming in and I'm sure it's going to be tough." I said.

"But you're a badass Violet and my idol. I've always looked up to you and I'm proud of you." Sierrah said.

"Thanks that's means a lot. I was so excited when you were born. Who would have thought we would have turned out to be best friends." I said.

The doorbell rang so I jumped up and went to open the door and saw that big box with pizza in it. I tipped the guy and shut and locked the door.

"Pizza is here Sierrah!" I yell.

She walks into the kitchen with my ringing phone and hands it to me.

📞Hey mom!

📞Violet, I am worried about you in that big ole house are you ok?

📞I am. Sierrah is here with me spending the night. I didn't want to be alone. We just ordered pizza and going to watch a movie.

📞Alright good just wanted to check on you. I love you Violet and Dad said he loves you too. Goodnight sweet pea.

📞Nite mom love you both! bye.

"She thought I was alone and was worried." I smiled.

"She's going to stay worried about you even though you aren't that far down the beach," Sierrah said.

"I'm kinda glad I will be working nights. I won't be here all alone. It's kinda too quiet here but I'll get used to it I'm sure." I laugh.

"You will and I'll stay with you whenever you want if Dad lets me." Sierrah laughs.

"I think Uncle Gray trust you with me." I laugh eating a bite of my pizza.
