Road trip

I'm at work and so is Abby, and we're both getting just the most frustrating news, like my sister is back with yer ex and my family is super happy about it, and I can't remember what it was on Abby's side but I think it had to do with her brother or one of her friends. So we decided to just.... leave. We decided to run away from all that frustration. We got in my car and started driving. With no destination in mind at first. It was a lot of fun! I've always wanted to go on a road trip with one of my friends and I finally got to! Sort of. On the road we complained about our problems and ate Reese's that I found in my glove box.
But then we heard a train and everything went bad for a second. See in this world Abby was traumatized by an unexplained accident with a train when she was little. And now every time she hears one she freaks out and tries to get away or functionally just passes out. I had to calm her down real fast jus to keep us from having a wreck. I got her calmed but then we had to go over trAin tracks. And there were pieces of train on the track. Abby FREAKED out and started to go down the tracks like she was on the train. I had to grab the wheel and explain to her the that we needed to get off the track to avoid trains.
After all that is over we look around and realize that we know the area and that there's someone nearby who we know. Maybe they would let  us stay the night? We arrive at a day care center for kids pre-K through 3rd grade. We walk in and are greeted by two of Abby's friends the first runs the daycare  (let's call her Kim Cady) and the second is her assistant who was in high school. (Probably my dentists assistant from when I went to the dentist yesterday, let call her Gretchen). We dispense pleasantries and chat for a Minute before Kim has to go take care of something in the other room and Gretchen has to get ready to go home.
They ask us to watch the kids for them for a bit. So we goof around and play with the kids, Kim comes back in and is like ok time for nap heads down mats out time to sleep or something like that. She leaves and the kids get a little rowdy so I say "heads down thumbs up time to play-oh wait that's not right, oops" Abby corrects me and we put the children to sleep.
Gretchen then comes back and asks why we're in Texas anyways and Abby fakes going to sleep. It is clear that she doesn't want to discuss this. She "wakes up" and her and Gretchen chat for a minute catching up on (most of) their lives. Abby cracks a joke and gets a chuckle from me and Gretchen, who says that's the hardest I've ever laughed at anything to which I responded "really? That's kind of sad" she responded with "yes"

                                And then I woke up
