Xiaojun looked up from where he was standing, and watched the new transfer walk in.
"Holy fuck he's gorgeous..."
The boy turned his head around, seeming to hear what he said, but that was impossible, wasn't it...

*slight trigger warning for this one, and just a heads up the next chapter (as in chapter 22 which i already finished is quite violent so yeah*
The car ride to the banquet was too awkward for Dejun's liking. Hendery sat between him and Lucas with his eyes closed, not saying anything at all. The truth was, he was trying his best to not leap at either of the humans. Normally, on the day before the blood moon he would've already locked himself up in the warehouse, but this time he was being forced to go to the banquet, bringing 2 humans with him.
This was not going to end well.
"4." "What?" Hendery asked, looking at Lucas. "9. I'm counting how many families are- oh, you're on 14. Your cousin is currently on 3, and you're already on 21."
"Seriously, 21?" Hendery questioned, rolling his eyes. "How desperate are royals to just try and marry their sons and daughters to me whom they haven't even met before?" Lucas ignored his best friend, still scrolling. "Oh this one looks familiar. And I think your grandfather will be quite pleased to see me."
Hendery laughed, forgetting his worries for a minute. "Yeah, the only person that old grump likes is you, and I still don't get how you do it." He turned to stare at Xiaojun's face, gently gripping his boyfriend's hand. "Hey, don't be nervous. Just stick to me and no one will bother you, alright, pet? Don't leave my side, I'll protect you." Xiaojun nodded, leaning on his boyfriend. "Is everything going to be um... weird?"
"Depends on your definition of weird. Oh, we're here." The driver got out, and opened the car door, Lucas going out the other door, while Hendery smiled, letting Xiaojun get out first then climbed out as well, holding his boyfriend's hand. One thing Dejun didn't expect were all the flashing cameras.
"Paparazzi. As funny as it sounds, even vampires like gossip and have news of our own." There were gasps as Hendery walked onto the carpet with Xiaojun, the two of them followed by Lucas. Hendery smiled, as he made his way forward, a reporter stuck a mic out right in front of his face, and he was forced to stop.
"Prince Hendery! Quick question, who are these with you?" Hendery smiled charmingly, holding up their entwined hands. "This is my boyfriend." He then pointed at Lucas. "And all of you know Lucas from last year."
The reporter nodded vigorously. "Ah yes, the first human to set foot in a royal vampire banquet. It's a pleasure to see you again, Lucas." Hendery smiled, and the temperature seemed to drop, as if there was a hidden threat in his voice.
"Kai, I trust you to not write another article spreading rumors of me and Xuxi dating again." the older vampire shuddered, and nodded, quickly pulling his arm back, allowing Hendery to walk towards the giant mansion in front of them.
"That was- certainly surprising. Could they not smell me?" Xiaojun asked. Hendery smiled a little, gently touching Dejun's hair. "If you stay close to me they can't, I've got a rather strong vampire scent, so it'll hide you if the other person doesn't step too close."
