To say Baekhyun was pissed was way too much of an understatement. The king was fuming, and every single vampire in the hall looked as surprised as heck. "So I'm taken. Stop trying to force me into marriages because this is the only person I would ever marry in my life."

Hendery gripped Xiaojun's hand tighter, and the human smiled back at him. "Sit down." Baekhyun hissed, not knowing what else to do. Yangyang just stood there looking very amused. "So the marriage is off, good wishes to the happy couple." Hendery glared at one of the nobles that was glaring at Dejun. "You, why aren't you getting him a chair? He is a to-be prince." The noble shuddered in fear, bowed his head and rushed off to get Xiaojun a chair.

"Being scary really doesn't suit you." Hendery frowned slightly. "Do you not like it?" Dejun shrugged. "You look better when you're cute instead of looking like you're murderous." Hendery immediately smiled at his boyfriend, puffing out his cheeks and making Xiaojun laugh.

The noble came back with a chair, and gaped at Hendery acting cute to make Dejun laugh. "What are you staring at." Hendery growled. The vampire immediately set down the chair and ran back into the crowd like his life depended on it.

"Anyways, grandpa, continue with your- important speech." Hendery helped Xiaojun sit down, and sat next to him, raising an eyebrow at the king.

Sicheng was already snickering, and Jaehyun looked proud for his son as he held Taeyong's hand. Baekhyun rolled his eyes, and continued talking.

About half an hour later, the speeches finally ended, and Hendery grinned as he led Dejun up. "Do you want to dance, pet?" Xiaojun shrugged. "I'm not sure I can waltz..." "I'll lead, come on." So he was pulled onto the dance floor, and they glided across the smooth marble pavement, and god did Dejun feel like he was flying with Hendery's agility as they danced. Honestly, if he just stood there like a statue he'd still manage to look graceful with Hendery leading.

"But honestly, are you alright? Does your neck still hurt? I'll take you home earlier if you want-" Dejun shook his head, kissing hendery's cheek. "I want to be here, and there's almost no pain now. I still have to keep those vampires off you, don't I. They all want to marry you and stuff."

Hendery chuckled, brushing his hair back. "So you admit your boyfriend is desirable." Xiaojun's face flushed quickly, and he changed the topic. "Xuxi really does get along with your grandfather, they look like good friends." "Yeah, I still don't know how he does it. I mean, grandpa is usually hostile towards humans, and then Lucas comes along and grandpa honestly loves spending time with him. Those two are besties."

"Well, Xuxi is nice." "Mmmhm." Hendery actually smiled this time, and it was one of those rare times when the smile looked completely sincere and from the heart. "Dejun, you don't have to worry about those nobles trying to get me to marry them. I'm yours, forever and always." He pressed his forehead onto the older's, closing his eyes as they just relaxed into the moment.
