I woke up bright and early to get myself all dolled up for Hayes. That meant curling my hair. That always takes a long time. I did my makeup and got in the cutest outfit I could find. I was so excited. I had something to look forward to for my school days.

I packed my bag and skipped breakfast. I wanted to get to school as early as possible to spend time with Hayes. I walked outside and began to walk along the sidewalk with my trumpet. I wondered if Hayes would make a sly move and drive by me again and pick me up. That was pretty cool. Hayes seamed different compared to all of his friends. His friends seamed kinda.... rude. Hayes was more thoughtful. I mean, the way he offered me to sit with his friends, how open he was. Maybe that's just the way he is. I shouldn't get my hopes up for anything. As much as I may want to, I really shouldn't.

I got to school and went to the band room to put my trumpet away. I went right up to science after that. I didn't have anyone to hang out with so why not get to class early. I walked down the hallway with a little bounce in my step. I was excited to see if Hayes would act the same around me.

I got to science and went to my seat. Hayes and his friends weren't here yet. I pulled out a notebook and pretended to be writing something important. (I was doodling.) I was getting really focused when I heard lots of loud laughing. I think Hayes was coming into the room. I look up from my notebook to see him and his friends. Hayes spotted me and got a smile on his face. He walked quickly away from his friends and sat down next to me.

"Hey there!" He said while smiling.

"Hi." I said kind of shyly.

"How are you?" He said. Okay, he seemed interested.

"I'm good how are you?" I replied.

"I'm great! Hey do you want a ride home from school today?" He asked kinda eagerly. I was a little caught off guard when he asked.

"Um, yeah! Sounds good!" A full smile went across his face.

"Awesome! Meet me in the lobby after school. I gotta stop by and get something real quick after school."

"Okay, no problem." He looked so happy. I'm not sure what I'm feeling now. I don't know what I'm feeling. Actually I do. I'm feeling like I like him. I mean his face is so adorable!

Hayes and I spent the rest of the day together as we did yesterday. His friends of course didn't approve of me very much. But Hayes did and that's what matters to me. He really was trying to make conversation with me. And that's great. I got to learn about him and what he likes. Hayes was a very cool person.

After school, I went to the band room and got my trumpet. I waited in the lobby for Hayes for about 5 minutes when I saw him coming down the stairs. He bounded down the stairs when he saw me and ran. I smiled at the way his hair flopped above his head. We went to his car and he drove away from the school. I pointed towards the direction of my house and he went in the opposite direction.

"Hayes, where are you going?" I asked.

"We are going to get frozen yogurt."

"Why?"

"For fun!" I laughed at him.
