To pass is a pain, but to live is much worse
Whether this mind, be a blessing or curse
It hurts to look up, into the sky
A light, blindingly bright, I think I might die
So is this how it ends? With no dreams, no friends
An endless void of white, are my eyes even open? It's harmfully light
Please don't bar me from being free
Not after all you've given me
And though I am in debt to you
And there could be a world with just us two
And we could splash and play all day
What would you do to get me to stay?
Where would we go to get away?
I feel trapped; I must stay
You've given me love, or whatever you call it
Though I'm sure the fire has already been lit
How else could I be burning so bright?
Others watch, to their delight
Admiring the paper curl and flake
Never to be doused, thrown in a lake
So please, I beg you, set me free
I've given you everything
All that I am, all that I be
If it's not enough, I plea, but please, Love
Set
Me
Free
