4. Fun In Games

"And these are the dorms!" Kaminari said as they led Takahashi through the doors.

"I'll show you around!" Mina said happily pulling their new classmates into the common room.

"I don't like her," Bakugo mumbled from behind Kaminari and Shinso when Mina and Takahashi were out of earshot. "She gives bad vibes."

"Oh come on Kat, be nice," Kirishima said scolding his boyfriend a little. "She's not giving bad vibes."

"I hate to say it but I agree with Bakugo," Shinso said in a quiet tone. So apparently it wasn't just Shinso getting weird vibes from the new alpha. "Something's off with her but I can't put my finger on it."

"Oh come on guys, it's probably just because she's new," Kaminari tried to reason with them. Shinso and he had talked about it a little during class and as far as the omega knew there was no real reason to feel threatened by her.

"Maybe but I also get a weird feeling from her," Sero stepped in. They looked to where Mina was showing Takahashi around the kitchen. Neither Kaminari nor Kirishima could see anything odd about her, she seemed perfectly normal, or well as normal as someone can get in a world with quirks. They didn't get how their friends were getting bad vibes.

"I think she's perfectly normal and you guys are just jealous because she's getting everyone's attention," Kaminari said. "I mean really, you have no reason to not like her we've only known her for what? 8 hours?"

"Doesn't mean I have to like her," Bakugo grumbled. "She's too perky as it pisses me off."

"You guys are irrational," Kirishima told them. "Let's just go sit with our classmates," he said leading them all to sit on the couches with some of their other classmates.

"Who's ready for game night!!" Hagakure and Mina exclaimed.

"Game night?" Takahashi asked.

"Ya! We usually play a game before bed altogether," Kaminari said. "What are we doing tonight?"

"Hide and seek!" Mina said happily.

"Wait that's not fair, Hagakure can turn invisible," Aoyama pointed out.

"Hagakure, keep your clothes on," Mina said pointing to the pare of floating clothes.

"Aww you guys are no fun," Hagakure pouted. Or at least Kaminari assumed she was pouting.

They figured out who the seeker was going to be by drawing cards. It was Midoriya. "Ok you all get a minute," he said. "One..." he started counting and everyone began the scramble to find a good hiding spot.

Kaminari was about 80% sure he saw Todoroki get in the deep freeze. Most of the class scattered through the second and third floors. They had made a rule that if you were ok with people hiding in your room you leave the door open but if you don't want them to be in your room then close the door.

Kaminari's found himself hiding in the back of Mina's closet behind her dresses that she had hung up. He heard someone else come into the room and hide as well but since the closet door was closed he couldn't see who.

The minute to hide had passed and there were footsteps from down the hall. Kaminari bit his cheek trying not to make a noise as Midoriya's footsteps entered the room.

"If someone were hiding in Mina's room where would they hide?" Midoriya mumbled.

Kaminari put a hand over his mouth trying not to laugh.

There were a few seconds of silence while Midoriya looked before an "aha!!" Came from the green-haired omega. "Found you!"

"Damn," kaminari was pretty sure it was Takahashi's voice.

"That was a good hiding spot, Takahashi!" Midoriya said happily.

Takahashi chuckled and Kaminari listened in hoping she hadn't seen him enter the room.

"You know you're pretty cute," she said. Kaminari could imagine how red Midoriya's face would be.

"I-u-umm hu?" Midoriya couldn't get his words out. Takahashi probably didn't know that Midoriya and Todoroki were dating, thus why she was flirting.

"With your flushed face and how you stutter, it's all very cute," her voice came again.

"I-I have a boyfriend," Midoriya said timidly. Kaminari's wanted to go and help his friend but found himself unable to move with no clue why.

"A shame really," she said. "You know I could treat you right."

"Get off me," Midoriya said before footsteps were heard leaving the room. A minute passed before Kaminari was able to make himself move again. He couldn't understand why he froze up like that, he should have been able to go and help Midoriya.

So maybe Takahashi was someone they needed to worry about. Shinso was right to be skeptical of her.

After another minute Kaminari came out of hiding needing to know if Midoriya was ok after that encounter. He had sounded mad when he left the room.

Searching the dorm building Kaminari's found the other omega on the third floor.

"I don't think you get how to play hide and seek Kaminari, you're supposed to stay hidden until I find you," he said smiling.

"I know, but- well I was in the room when Takahashi..." well Kaminari wasn't quite sure what to call it he hadn't seen what happened. "When you found Takahashi and I just wanted to know you were ok."

"Why wouldn't I be?" He sounded clueless like he hadn't just been flirted with and possibly touched by the alpha.

Kaminari furrowed his brows, "well Uhh you sounded upset and I heard the conversation." Kaminari was becoming confused.

"Conversation?" Midoriya asked again completely clueless. "Are you feeling ok Kaminari? I think you may be hearing things," he said putting the back of his hand to Kaminari's head to check his temperature.

"Umm ya, I'm fine, I-" he didn't know what to say. Had he imagined the conversation? But why would he be imagining his friend getting flirted with? "I... need some air," he said heading for the stairs.

Midoriya watched worriedly as Kaminari made his way to the first floor.

"This doesn't make sense," he muttered. "I know what I heard and yet..." why didn't Midoriya know what he was talking about? Why had he seemed so confused?

Kaminari's brain hurt. He sat on the front porch to the dorms and held his head in his hands trying to figure it out.

He sat for a while until everyone was called to the common room after Midoriya had found everyone. Kaminari's mind still spinning as he tried to understand what happened. He opted out of playing another round, instead, going back to his room, unknowingly followed by his boyfriend.

A few knocks on his door came before Kaminari opened it to see the worried alpha. "Are you ok? Midoriya said you were acting strange."

Kaminari sighed. "I know you mean well, Hitoshi, but the last thing I need right now is to talk with someone," Kaminari said.

"Ok we don't have to talk," Shinso said. "Just let me be here."

Kaminari pondered for a moment before letting Shinso into his room. Kaminari collapsed on his bed followed by Shinso crawling in and pulling him into his chest. "You said no talking but I have a question," Shinso said quietly. Kaminari sighed but let him continue. "You stopped calling me Toshi, why?"

Kaminari was silent for a moment before turning around in Shinso's arms. "I don't know," he said nuzzling his face into Shinso's chest. "A subconscious thing maybe?" He said quietly.

Shinso's mind lingered on that. Why would it be a subconscious thing?

Deciding to think about it in the morning Shinso ran his fingers through Kaminari's hair and closed his eyes. They were both tired and in need of a long sleep.
