The day after the attempted sleepover in the common room was when everything set in. No more adrenaline was pumping through the couple's blood and they had had too much time to think about what happened.

"You guys sure you're ok after last night?" Mina asked when the two walked sluggishly into the common room that morning. Everyone had bombarded them with questions before Iida had chased them off saying it was probably traumatic and they didn't want to talk about it, which he wasn't wrong.

Kaminari shrugged. He had one of his arms hooked around Shinso's arm as he lent into the Alpha's side. The two hadn't left each other's side since Kaminari had come to the alpha the night before. Both of them felt much better being with the other. "Yeah, I guess," Kaminari said tiredly. He rubbed his eyes a few times, the unusual dark circles very visible to all his friends.

Neither of them had gotten any sleep the night before, Kaminari was absolutely exhausted, but closing his eyes too long brought back the memories.

"It was a long night," Shinso said with a yawn, leaning his head against Kaminari's.

"What... exactly happened?" Kirishima asked cautiously. He knew he probably shouldn't ask but he wanted to know.

Kaminari pulled himself closer to Shinso. "She trapped us in our minds," he muttered.

"Showed us all our worse memories," Shinso continued.

Sero looked uneasy. "They couldn't have been that bad, right?" He seriously underestimated how much the two went through as kids. It's not like Kaminari goes around talking about how he got put up for adoption. And Shinso definitely didn't go around talking about how his birth parents had abandoned him in a dark alleyway when he was only 5.

"Sero you don't just say that!" Mina said hitting him on his arm. "They clearly went through a lot."

"Sorry," Sero muttered looking down.

"Oh come on, what could be so bad-" Bakugo started.

"Katsuki!" Kirishima scolded.

"I'm just saying," Bakugo muttered.

"Well stop 'saying'" Kirishima told him, pushing away from his boyfriend. Crossing his arms and sitting as far away as the couch would allow.

Before things could escalate they were interrupted by Aizawa entering the common room. "Shinso, Kaminari, the police are here, they need your statements," Aizawa said tiredly. It had been extremely late when the police had come to take Takahashi the night before and everything had been too fresh. Aizawa had suggested letting them sleep before the police asked any questions.

They both nodded and got off the couch, heading over to the door. Kaminari was the most hesitant out of the two. He had handled the night before the worst, his mind deciding to replay everything in vivid details.

They left the common room and followed Aizawa to where the police were waiting.

"We know you two probably went through a lot but we need to know exactly what happened last night," one of the police officers said.

Kaminari wouldn't let go of Shinso as the two started to explain. The falling, the meadow, the mirrors, the memories, how Takahashi had made herself a little safe zone, everything. Well, not everything exactly. Kaminari had skipped over exactly what Takahashi had shown him and just said it was his worst memories.

They both hoped that this would be over soon and they could try and forget but the police asked one more question.

"What exactly did she show you in the mirrors?" He asked Kaminari.

Kaminari stiffened, not bringing his eyes to meet the officers. "My worst memories," he said.

"And what would those be?" Shinso had already shared his with the officer, but he had a feeling it was going to take a lot more for Kaminari to come clean. They were talking to a police officer, who knows what would happen if he told them what happened.

He glanced up at Shinso, who squeezed his hand for comfort and took a deep breath. "The night I killed my birth mom," he muttered.

The air became thick with silence, everything just seemed to come to a halt. "Are you admitting to murder?" The police asked.

"It was deemed quirk malfunction. When I first manifested, it was mainly attached to my emotions back then," Kaminari muttered. "It's all in my closed files."

The officers eyed him skeptically. Mr. Aizawa had been too shocked to say anything.

"Right," the officer said writing something down. "Well, I'll see if I can look into your files, but other than that I don't think I have any more questions." The officer was still looking at Kaminari. "Stay in town for some time, so we know where to find you if needed."

For some reason, Kaminari had a feeling that meant "stay here so that if your story doesn't check out I can arrest you too."

They both nodded and the police officer left. Aizawa looked over at them. "Kaminari, if you want to talk about it I'll be here, same for you Hitoshi," Aizawa said before leaving the two and heading back to the school so he could do some grading.

Kaminari lent his head against Shinso's shoulder and took in a shaky breath. "I don't get why the police needed to know what we saw, we told them what happened," Kaminari said.

"I guess it was to see what Takahashi could do?" Shinso said though it sounded more like a question.

"Hito? Can we go back to the dorms?" Kaminari asked. Shinso nodded and they headed back to the dorms. "Do you... think we'll ever see her again?" Kaminari asked looking up at the alpha.

"God I hope not," Shinso muttered. "But if we do, I'll be here with you."

Kaminari laughed a little. "You're cheesy."

Shinso let a small smile fall on his lips. "Mhh you bring it out of me."

"Can you put it back? I don't know how to react when you say stuff like that."

Shinso laughed a little. "That's why I say it," he said leaning over a little. "It gets you flustered."

The omega blushed a deep red, hiding his face in Shinso's arm and whining a little from embarrassment. "You're lucky I love you."

Shinso smiled again. That was the first time he had said it since the summer. "I love you too
Denki. No matter what happens."
