jaemin had been walking jaeeun to her thursday class when jaemin caught the eye of donghyuck. donghyuck ran up to the two, "hey jaemin- oh, who's this?" donghyuck asked, knowing exactly what he was doing. he thought jaeeun was cute, so he just wanted her number.
"i'm jaeeun. jung jaeeun." she smiled, waving at donghyuck and donghyuck smiled back, "lee haechan." they shook hands and donghyuck went over to talk to her. jaemin felt like he was third wheeling as donghyuck made jaeeun laugh.
"i'm going to go get some coffee. i'll see you guys later." jaeeun said but before she could walk off, donghyuck stopped her, "sorry to bother you, but i was wondering if i could have your number?" jaemin looked at jaeeun intently, "hmm, i'll think about it." she joked, putting her number into donghyuck's phone.
donghyuck had ran into jaeeun later that day on his way to intro to historical science. "jaeeun right?" he asked as he approached her and she nodded, "haechan right?" she mocked and he chuckled. "i didn't know you majored in history." donghyuck said as they entered the lecture hall and she nodded, "i major in history and minor in astronomy. what about you?" she asked as the two sat at two empty seats at the end of the sixth row.
"history and music major."
"oh, a double major. what do you want to be?"
"i want to a songwriter and if that doesn't workout, a historian or anthropologist. you?"
"a mythologist. it sounds so stupid but mythology and folklore is so interesting to me. it explains different reasons for living in many different countries. i want to learn more." she explained and donghyuck smiled. he could see the genuine passion this girl had for history in her eyes. he liked that.
"if not a mythologist, then what?"
"an astronomer or anthropologist."
"i know we just met, but do you sing? i know it sounds weird, but i need someone to record some of the songs i wrote for my songwriting class and i don't really know many girls." donghyuck asked, watching her grab her stuff for the class out. she nodded, "sure. as long as you treat me to coffee afterwards to soothe my vocal chords." she joked, giving the boy a smile.
"oh, this is your textbook. jaehyun hyung said you left it in his dorm."
"thank god. i was starting to panic." she laughed, flipping through the pages. donghyuck paid close attention to her. he didn't know if it was the way she presented herself or the way you could tell she's trying to open up enough to make a friend, but donghyuck was intrigued.
after class, jaeeun walked out the room with donghyuck chasing her, "wait! do you have a class right now?" he asked and she shook her head innocently, "nope! i only have two lessons on thursdays."
donghyuck smiled, and suggested,
"let's go get some coffee."
