The first time she ever met the Doctor was at her mother's wedding.

Jane had helped her mother get ready all morning, soothing her nerves and always offering her a smile. The young girl was rather excited, her mother seemed so happy - but she had also given so much up for this man. It was almost as if she was hardly herself any more.
Her mother had given up everything - the whole life she had built up for herself going after aliens and helping save the earth. All for a man. Jane, of course, refused to give up - but Sarah Jane, her mother, was beyond happy with her life. Clyde and herself had begun to realise something wasn't right, but had spent the last two weeks trying to dig deeper to end up with nothing.
It was the day of the wedding, and the young girl was dressed in a light blue flowy dress - and herself, Rani and her mother were sitting in a white car. The drive towards the venue was rather short from where they were getting changed, and the mother and daughter held each others hands.
The nerves were radiating off the pair of them, Jane sparing a glance towards her mother. She looked truly beautiful today. Luke was waiting outside the building, a man walking to open the doors of the car for the women inside. Her mother stepped outside first, the sleek dress hitting the floor. Sarah Jane's hair was beautifully done up and out of her face except for two strands that hung in curls. Two white flowers were delicately placed in the back of the rolled up hair, and she wore fingerless gloves while her hands held onto the white rose bouquet. The sleeves of the wedding dress fluttered in the wind, as the woman walked towards her adopted son.
"Mum." He spoke after they shared a kiss on each cheek. Rani was the next woman to leave the car, dressed head to toe in hot pink. She wore flat pink shoes, a sleek fluttery pink dress and held a smaller version of Sarah Jane's bouquet.
"Rani. You look... good." Luke spoke, a smile on his face. His sister knew that he had begun to crush on the new girl, but hadn't dared mention it to her friend.
"I look 'good'?" A brow was raised from Rani, as she looked at Luke. It was clear she hadn't been too impressed by
"You look amazing. Both of you."
Jane was the last person to step out of the car, a light blue dress like Rani's upon herself - but she wore light blue heels instead of flats. Her choppy brown hair was half up and half down, as it usually was - and she wore a singular flower like her mother's. The young girl also held a smaller version of the bouquet.
"Jane, you look amazing." It was her adopted brother speaking, and she smiled, moving over to wrap the boy in a big hug.
"As do you, Luke."
Luke and her mother linked arms, the two girls walking behind the bride and her son. The pair in front of the girls were speaking, as the girls linked their arms together.
"Thought you might have gone for the Doctor to give you away." The boy asked, sparing a glance to his mother as they all began to walk into the building.
"I need somebody reliable, and I'm so very, very glad it's you." Sarah Jane spoke, sparing a glance back to her daughter with a smile. "Both of you. Besides, where would I send the invite? Metebelis III?"
The woman chuckled, but Jane stopped in her tracks - the other three people continuing to walk on. Her head snapped back, brows furrowing together as she gazed outside. A wheezing, humming noise sounded as if it was in the distance; but there was no sign of the source of it. Jane knew that noise like the back of her hand, her mother had talked about it on several occasions.
