CONNOR
"Hey, I hope this mudak didn't hurt you?" says Cayden pulling Catrina out of my grasp.
"Language, Cayden," chastises Christine as Sierra growls at a sheepish looking Cayden. Sierra has made a strict rule of "no bad words" in front of her pup and we are supposed to practice from now itself.
Damn the woman!
I growl at him before letting go of my mate. Catrina doesn't jump at my growls anymore making me think that she's becoming used to me being a werewolf.
My mate has always been strong but these life-changing events can startle even the strongest ones. I am just so proud of my little sun.
My wolf is still high on the attention that our mate fed him.
"So, Connor when are you going to claim your mate? I can't wait to have grand babies," says my mom and I see my mate freeze at the words.
I sigh and move my hand over my face, feeling drained all of a sudden. The news of my mate and her loss and then her being Fenris's cousin has drained me. All I want to do is pack our bags and take my mate far off to some island where there will be no past traumas and new people interfering in my matter.
"Mom, I'll tell you about it later, please. Let Catrina settle in first," I say and catch the relieved smile that Catrina throws my way.
Not wanting to be away from her, I quickly settle in the seat beside her before Cayden catches it.
"You had your time with her. I want to get to know my sister, now," rumbles Cayden and I am ready to growl back at him for his disobedience, when Catrina squeezes his hand and tells him to sit across her. Cayden rolls his eyes and mutters something about being charmed by me before settling across from us.
I only smirk and then put my arm on the back of my mate's chair, effectively riling up her twin.
"Oh, stop it you two. I am hungry now and I am not waiting for you both to solve your differences. If you want to eat, start now or get out of the kitchen," growls Sierra before digging into her plate and quite dramatically enjoying her food.
~~~~~~~~
"What did you do to hurt your mate, Connor?" asks my mom. We are all done with the lunch and Catrina is upstairs talking to her mom while here I wait to get interrogated by my mom.
"I accused her of cheating on me then I broke up with her. She was pregnant that time and didn't know of it. Later on, in the second trimester, she lost both of our pups and now the doctors claim that my mate can no longer conceive," I whisper in a monotone, not quite trusting myself to lose my shit.
"What?" my mom gasps and then collapses in the chair, clearly shocked because of my words.
"You bastard!ty che, suka, o'khuel blya?"
I turn around to watch Fenris standing in the doorway, his eyes turning midnight black showing the intensity of his anger. My wolf growls but is still wary of his Alpha's wrath. I calmly stand there watching Fenris marching towards me and grabbing me by the collar.
I let him, much to my own surprise, because I am at fault here. I set out a chain of traumatic events for my own mate.
"How could you Connor? She's my cousin," roars Fenris, making my mother cry out as she walks towards us and tries to pry off Fenris's fingers off my neck.
"I am sorry. I told her everything about us and she has asked me for some time before she accepts or rejects me," I whisper, calmly pleading my case. Fenris shrugs off his hold on me and I stumble back a bit, my wolf angry as well as ashamed about our behavior towards our mate.
